I agree, I thought it was extraordinarily good.

The bit where Roxy threatened to leave was a bit Groundhog Day, but thereafter ... the joyful wedding scenes, the realistically euphoric dancing, and the final scenes intercut with Jack's story were brilliant.

Loved Lee and Mick's scenes, too. At last Lee owned up.

Some good lines from Dot and a fine hungover cameo from Shirley to lighten it up. No Jane.

Really well done, overall.

Still think her wedding with Charlie at new years was a much better episode. And probably should just have killed Ronnie off then. Tonight's had some really nice moments though and I did enjoy it. It was nice to see Ronnie and Roxy just having fun. I think because the stuff leaked turned out to actually be true the ending was a bit meh.

As much as I think it was the right decision to axe the characters maybe them both dying was a bit much. But it is done now. Sam and Rita have a great relationship and that has shown throughout.

It was fantastic. The eeriness and chilling atmosphere created while Jack was reading the kiddies a story was exceptional.

I liked the way that even in the middle of the build up to R and R's death, we still had Lee and Mick and that storyline.

Everyone involved was outstanding.

A lot of people have been talking about leaks/spoilers that was in The Sun.

I never read it (I don't read spoilers unless I read it by accident and the spoiler is in the headline that you can't avoid) so had no idea how they would die or even if they would both die.

The whole episode was very well done with the nods to R & R's past throughout the show and the contrast with the Cinderella story that Jack was reading: Ronnie having one shoe, the countdown to midnight etc.

That last scene with the midnight chimes, the camera panning from the side of the pool, then into the pool and then the bodies of Ronnie in white and Roxie in black floating followed by the silent credits was very memorable and very well done

I really liked the episode. I wasn't fussed one way or the other if the girls were killed off or not. I have felt since both have been back in the last couple of years, the SL have been the same as previous years. Ronnie trying to control Roxy, Roxy telling Ronnie "you can't control me / I can't have you in my life" etc. Even in last nights episode, after Ronnie and Jack got married, Roxy was still going on about how she could have ruined everything, like another poster said it was like groundhog day.

I appreciate that a new producer could have changed their SL then meaning changing their characters, but then people would moan about that too!

Having watched EE from the start, I have never thought R&R were invincible, there are more characters I wish weren't killed off or left before them, but thats just my opinion.

However, great Episode, loved the wedding reception scenes / Mick and Lee / Jack storytelling, can't wait for others!

Did Ronnie ever get divorced from Charlie?

It will undoubtedly win awards for the best single episode in a soap and best exits. I've seen better episodes in other TV dramas but it was far superior to the vast majority of soap episodes.

The death scene was okay but Jack reading the tale of Cinderella and the lost slipper (yawn)

That was excellent and it was good to see a bit of actual effort with the storytelling. This EP is frankly working wonders compared to the dross of Newman, Kirkwood and DTC.

I have managed to avoid any and all spoilers for this so had no expectations of the episode at all.

I really rather enjoyed it!

What caught my attention above all was the filming and editing. Interesting camera angles and effects. Quite novel for EE. I think it would irritate the hell out of me if it became a regular feature, but as a 'special' for this particular episode, I thought it was appropriate and added atmosphere.

As for the death scenes, I enjoyed the 'artistry'. However I found the lighting too low. I couldn't see clearly. (Perhaps I need to adjust the settings on my TV.)

The scenes with Jack and the children were nicely cut in with the R&R scenes.

Re Lee & Mick's scenes - it was quite something to see expression on Lee's face. Another novelty for this ep!

It's definitely the most memorable EE exit I've ever seen. The only other one that's still vivid in my memory is Tiffany dying on camera after being struck by a car.

I think it's wishful thinking there both dead there both coming out of it so it wouldn't make sense for one to just survive now and then up and leave anyway.

I don't think any round of applause is due other than perhaps it's got people talking in the sense it's divided opinion.

I did like the dancing scenes the music was much better than your normal wedding disco I'd have quite liked to have been there with them

we're all superior imo.

I did enjoy tonight's episode and there was a good level of drama and fun incorporated together. I also liked that show played homage to the years of the Mitchell sisters. However I do think SOC took the sensationalist route with thier exits. To not only be killed off but to be killed off like THAT was just unneccassary.”

BIB was the first episode of 2010 wasn't it? So it squeaks into the decade by the skin of its teeth but I agree, it was an absolute corker - watched it countless times.

I did enjoy last night's though, it's right up there. I don't have many feelings in particular towards Ronnie but I'll miss Roxy a lot. Such a shame that her death along with her last storyline never allowed her to regain any dignity. Ronnie at least died heroically - or attemptedly-heroically. And fitting that they die together - they were the loves of each other's lives whoever they ended up marrying. Oh I'm sad now.

I thought last night's episode was very good but still second best to the heart stopping Ronnie/Danielle reveal : Archie/Peggy wedding episode of 2009.....that's if we're talking the past decade's worth of episodes. The way the episode credits went up after the clock struck 12midnight without any sound however was excellently thought out and done though, even if the cause of their deaths was a bit silly and generally unrealistic!

It wasn't unrealistic. People have died in hotel swimming pools even without being drunk or on drugs.
