That's too much for me to process. But in general terms, I would downgrade any duet where the celebrity over powers/ makes it all about them. And prefer those where the contestant is allowed/ able to shine. A duet is about two people working together.

So, all of Nicole Sherzinger duets, Christina Aguilera with Rebecca, for example, don't work very well because the experienced singer dominates.

To show what I mean. Kylie Minogue and Leon Jackson was a good and effective duet. She helped him to shine. Whereas Katherine Jenkins in the same series didn't help Rhydian. Similarly, Leona Lewis and Take That. She sounded and looked like their equal.

Actually, Beyoncé with Alex worked well too. Despite Beyoncé being amazing as always, she treated Alex with respect and helped her to overcome her initial shock/awe to perform herself.

I thought Ray fitted well with Westlife but it seemed odd pairing Westlife with JLS - eight people on stage is too much.

Though I think it was a last minute arrangement so they took who was available

I agree Leon and Kylie worked better than Rhydian and Katherine.

Olly and Robbie suited each other

Also Andrea and Ella worked well.

I thought Marcus and Gary's duet was one of the best - nobody trying to outsing anybody, they both did justice to the song and performed it naturally.

I dislike all of Nicole's duets, simply because they seem like a pretext for her to show off. In her concerts, she never sings like that - and I doubt anyone can, for 2 hours.

Olly and Robbie were a match made in heaven, I'll stop there.

I liked Saara and Adam Lambert - a very respectful and professional duet.

Kylie was instrumental in tipping Leon over the finishing line in first place, IMO. For that reason, it deserves a higher placing. I also liked Andrea and Ella - good version of her song.

Agree with all of this - duets on XF final work when the finalist is showcased to the best of their ability, and paired with someone who can compliment their style. Olly and Robbie, for obvious reasons, were a perfect match, as were Saara and Adam.

The best duet is unquestionably Alexandra and Beyonce - that is a moment of TV gold, unlikely to ever be topped. I could watch that song forever, it's so, so good!
