So many BBC Radio shows today pre-recorded
I know that plenty of presenters will have wanted the day off today, but I have noticed several examples of today's shows pre-recorded. At least the presenters did admit it and save people having texts or emails ignored.
The shows I noticed were recorded were Pienaar's Politics on Radio 5 Live, Sweeney's 60s on Radio Manchester and now Steve White's new retro chart show on Radio Sheffield. I reckon there will have been plenty of others too. |

It's been New Year's Day. I'd imagine radio listenership has been very low., much like Christmas Day. That's probably why.

Have a look at a newspaper at Christmas or New Year, most has been written weeks ago with just a few news items "live" and I bet more than usual are just taken from the agencies. |

Perhaps it matters to those whose only human contact is radio show phone ins? There is always the Samaritans if you get desperate.
It is just that the people complaining about no live radio or TV tend to be ones who work 9 to 5, Monday to Friday and certainly have never had to work on Bank Holidays. |

Radio 2 on New Year's Day had pre-recorded shows between 9am-11am and then 1pm right through to 9pm.
