Will he get with honey?

Go with Whitney when Lee leaves so she gets to keep the flat?

Stay single for awhile?

He seems a glorified extra without Ronnie

The first thing I thought is would he sleep with Glenda? Almost like the grief pulls them together. Then again I can see him staying single for a while, and I think Matthew will go to live with Charlie as well.

To me it seems like they are lining up Honey, they have been using the character more in scenes with Jack. Plus Billy will no doubt be arranging the funerals, it may divide them if he is too busy to be emotionally supportive to Honey. Jack and Honey might support each other instead....

He and Max are speaking again so I hope Max can support him....and then he can support Max when the self-harming is revealed.

The axe hopefully! Cannot stand the guy now, the way he's treated Roxy these last few weeks is beyond hypocritical. Conveniently forgetting the way HE has behaved these last few years.

Sadly though I've a feeling he'll be sticking around and they'll be rebuilding his relationship with Max, another dullard IMO. Such a shame they didn't kill off the Branning brothers instead of the Mitchell sisters

This x 100%. Get rid of him.

I've no idea to be honest. Scott Maslen may be eye-candy (although he's aged quite a bit so can't quite carry the sexiest male on the square title anymore... ) but he's just not a strong actor. I remember after Bradley died in 2010, and Max, single, without his children, was able to convey the grief, isolation, lonliness and despair brilliant;y. He had family like Carol around, but his strongest scenes were those where he was on his own. His two-hander with Stacey which literally just featured them walking and driving was one of the best episodes of that year. There's no way we could ever have a two-hander with Jack and one other character. Unfortunately, Jack just isn't as developed a character as Max, or Ronnie for that matter. Jack always seemed like an extension of Ronnie...

Can't he just toddle off to Ongar with the kids?

With Linda out of the way, he can take his bromance with Mick to the next level

I hope it's not an affair with Honey. I like her and Billy together.

Don't mind Jack personally. He's still letting properties so he's covered as far as work/money is concerned. Maybe they should explore how he deals as a single father.

Mick and Jack hugged each other more times than he kissed Ronnie tonight! I like their friendship even though it's only just been remembered!

Well he's gone from Walford playboy to grief stricken widowed father of three. I can see EastEnders focusing on the emotional side of him at first. He will fall apart and I imagine another Walford lady will step in i.e. Honey. I can see Honey and Jack becoming an item, with Honey leaving Billy for a time. This will lead to the Mitchells turning on Jack.

Dot will contact Charlie to return to Walford I think.

It is only just that little Matthew be reunited with his father, who was kept away by Ronnie. And in this regard, I think Ronnie's sins have to be revealed. Perhaps Dot finds out finally what happened to Fatboy and what Vincent did to keep Charlie away. This would devastate Jack but he's no right to keep Matthew.

Jack I think will become a bit meaner for a time, bit more ruthless in his business dealings. I think he will evict Whitney and Lee from their flat. He won't be interested in their problems. And it could end up that Lee and Whitney are homeless, though I don't see the Carters leaving Lee on the street, despite what he revealed to Mick tonight.

There is some scope for story for Jack yet I think.
My worry is Billy becoming the loser again, if Honey leaves him to be with Jack. I've loved Billy's forward direction as a character in the last while, so I hope he isn't regressed if Hack happens.

What happens to the children isn't really going to play big. Kids of that age can't really act so short of a few "Daddy I'm sad!" scenes that's not really something that has an awful lot of mileage. Matthew will probably be shipped off the Charlie off-screen.

Also Vincent fell out with Ronnie badly last year and he's mellowed so much as a character. I'd imagine if Charlie returned he'd probably apologise for running him out Walford. For Dot, that as well as the Fatboy stuff could be revealed.

Evicting Lee and Whitney would also help with the Carter plot. With Lee departing in a few months no flat would only worsen his terrible situation.

I agree - glad Jack reconciled with Max as he was unnecessarily cruel to him when he initially returned.

Jack has potential as a grieving widower and a single parent and Max's self injury and rebuilding his own life has potential too. They can support each other and become stronger. It's nice for them to be given strong gripping storylines that don't involve womanising for a change.

Do you think Jake Wood can act?

Not really. I quite enjoyed the episode last night - the only negative was Max and his acting. Having been in prison for so long, he was bound to have forgotten a few basics.
