Roxy and Ronnie's death feels and is as bad as Tiffany's death in 1998!

Seriously, this was THAT bad! Gutted for the sisters.

Roxy's instant death. Ronnie having one final tragic loss - and then dying!

No soap death is as iconic a mistake as Tiffanys.

Tiffany is my all time favourite EE character. Killing her off was a huge mistake.

Despite EE writing for Ronnie and Roxy going round in circles their deaths are sort of reminding me of how I felt when Tiff died.

Both Ronnie and Tiffany were tragic characters but for very different reasons. You really wanted them to find lasting happiness but it wasn't to be.

Tiffany's death involved another character though. Short of it being revealed Dot left the wedding party early to stand a the bottom of the pool to hold Roxy down when she jumped in, this storyline isn't anywhere near as consequential.

I haven't seen you around here before Bomo, but I'm really enjoying your posts

I was gutted when Tiffany died, because I had thoroughly enjoyed her story.
Her relationship with Grant was compelling EastEnders viewing. This was when the show still did stories of relationships rather than plot lead stories. I think part of the sadness of Tiffany's death, was that she could have returned and perhaps more story was there. But then again, her exit preserved the memory of a fantastic time in EastEnders history, which was the Grant/Tiffany years.

I don't feel as gutted for Ronnie and Roxy, because I feel their time had come. There was nowhere else for them to go. They went out as they came in, in epic fashion! Their departure will shake up the Square as much as their arrival did back in 07. I'm sad to see them go, but ultimately it's nowhere near doomsday as some are making out. It's another era we must say goodbye to, in order for a new one to begin.

Seeing their funeral scene is going to be interesting.

I wonder if Christian will turn up?

I loved Ronnie, however, in R&R and Tiffany's case I think the right decision was made

I hope they're buried together near Peggy.
Mad to think we've lost Peggy, Ronnie and Roxy in the space of a year when you think of it. 2008-2010 they were literally the leading ladies of the show.

I hope Christian does come back.
It would be a nice nod to their friendship.

A picture of them should be put behind the bar with Peggys.

In terms of emotional impact - yes. Very reminiscent of Tiffany's death.

In terms of being a mistake... probably also reminiscent.

I get the comparison of it being the death(s) of major characters. I thought the same thing. I personally never cared that much for Tiffany or Roxy so their deaths, while shaking up the show, didn't bother me in the slightest. I'll kinda miss Ronnie and I think there will be times her presence would have been worthwhile but really she shouldn't have come back so soon after her first exit. That ballsed everything up and the character was directionless. Bringing her back now to deal with Roxy's death would have been better.

It's rare, but I don't think I could have put that better myself, totally agree BA

They should have just killed off Roxy if they had to kill somebody.
