Beauty & The Beast

Looks like its going to be visually stunning. I remember reading its exactly the same as cartoon but in film form. So its not a different take on the story like Maleficent was. |

It's got a great cast and think it will be excellent!
Looking forward to hearing the classic songs as well as the ones being used from the stage show. |

I'm a little surprised they didn't ask Angela Lansbury to reprise her role as Mrs Potts.

It looks amazing. Still not convinced Emma Watson was the best choice. Never heard her sing so hopefully she can do the songs justice. I don't like the sound of Ewan McGregor from the trailer and I really don't like his singing voice so that's going to be a struggle. Ian McKellen will be fine I'm sure. Emma Thompson's a good choice (although it is a shame they didn't go with Angela Lansbury) as is Luke Evans.

I love the film of beauty and the beast but I just couldn't warm to the stage show at all. Hoping this'll be great.

Emma Watson love her or loathe her embodies Belle so perfectly at her casting my misconceptions were dispelled. And with Paige o'hara giving her the thumbs up my excitement grew. My only reservation is the idea of animation to live with no deviation from the original, only because it may be boring as we know what is happening. But overall as a 25th anniversary gift for the film couldn't be better.

The only one of these live action Disney films that I've seen is "Maleficent" and I enjoyed it. I'm really looking forward to "Beauty & The Beast" because it's one of my favourite Disney films.
I'm interested to see how it works with being a live action. |

Hope they do a good job. The animated version is the best film Disney has ever made.
Never heard Emma Watson sing. Does anyone know if she is any good? |

She went to stage school as a child and studied Performing Arts and Musical Theatre, she also had three months of vocal training for this role, word on the street is that she's great.

Iv heard that Emma is great, what about Dan Stevens??
Luke Evans is an amazing singer, saw him in the West End before he made it in Hollywood. |

I'm genuinely so excited about this. It's a tough call but Beauty and the Beast is probably my favourite Disney movie. Emma Watson should be good I think, she certainly has the right looks for it and I think she has proved to be a good actor since HP.
I hated Maleficent but loved Cinderella (though I still like Ever After more) I'm happy to hear this is just like the original, which was pretty perfect imo. |

I know it's only a teaser trailer but I felt oddly deflated by it.
Visually it looked good but I really do not like the choice of Emma Watson for Belle from what I know of her work/the very brief moment we've seen of her. I thought Ewan McGregor's small clip of voice work sounded awful too. I know I'm saying this based on very little footage so I'm fully prepared to be proved wrong - happily so, infact! I was utterly in love with the original Disney animation when younger so I think I'm probably holding the live action version to a very high standard. |

That said, I thought the trailer looked great and the music still sends tingles down my spine. I'm not sure why people are so down on Ewan McGregor, it sounded ok to me! |

But I'm not a fan of EW at all, and I doubt I'd go to cinema to see it with her in. Probably wait for the video though. I'm probably also the only person in the world that thinks 'Frozen' was just complete rubbish too, and I'd be concerned that the producers have picked up some things from that given it's apparent popularity. |

Let it Go is a very odd song to become so successful, who can remember any of the lyrics other than the title?
Was Frozen that massive when it came out at the cinema? As far as I can remember it just kind of came and went, and it's only in its DVD afterlife that it's become so big. Mind you, probably a lot of films are like that. |

I can sing along too and I'm not ashamed of that fact at all! ![]() ![]()

Frozen is the highest grossing animated feature of all time and 9th highest grossing film overall as things stand with $1.287 billion earned to date. So it did pretty well at the cinema!
I just don't remember people raving about it nearly as much until it started being on DVD/Blu-Ray etc. I think that's where a lot of the biggest takings are for films these days...

I'm a little disapointed. Its just a live action copy of the film. If you are going to re make a film, change it. Make it darker so the beast eats people, or Belle is a lesbian and outcast they form a friendship.
Will this be the "let it go" of 2017? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgYEJHJXFB4 |
