Well he did not print the 350 mil on the side of the bus and the poster was a factual portrayal of people trying successfully to cross borders illegally.

Nigel F is very engaging on the radio
Horrifying to hear him discussing Trump and Putin with such warmth And if I heard correctly not really answering the question from the female caller about whether we shoukd be concerned about Putin He also hailed Richard Nixon regarding his trip to China And everytime domeone rang in and told him he should have got a knighthood told them they were very sweet

LBC's audience is a mish-mash of the lonely, the paranoid, the conspiracy theorists, the mentally disturbed, the barmy right-wingers, and black cab drivers (mini cabs go Heart/Kiss).
It's a perfect receptacle for Farage. If he had a phone-in on R4 it would be a totally different scenario. |

No one forces you to pay £146 a year to listen to BBC Radio either!

There is the weekly "Any Answers" in response to "Any Questions", the callers to whom are of a different calibre totally to the chavs that suck up LBC. |

Yes - I gather so.
PS I hope as a regular listener of LBC yourself you didn't take too much offence at a previous post from another poster. LBC has more than its fair share of Daily Mail comments section refugees as listeners but there are a few enlightened and progressive types who also listen ![]() Always good to know what the "enemy" are saying. |

Perhaps Farage should have told the truth by telling everyone that the 350M printed on the side of a bus was not true or not stood in front of his racist immigration poster.
Shock horror, it works both ways. |

No one forces you to pay £146 a year to listen to R4 either. You are remarkably ill informed. It would, however, be a total bargain compared to the premium you pay on goods and services to cover the advertising on Global's cheap and nasty stations.
There is the weekly "Any Answers" in response to "Any Questions", the callers to whom are of a different calibre totally to the chavs that suck up LBC. PS thinking you are superior to other people doesn't make you so! LBCs listenership is very diverse in terms of age, ethnicity and demographic - unlike Radio 4. A constant stream of white middle class callers to Any Answers from Islington, Surrey and Tunbridge Wells doesn't make for diverse opinions. |

The shot was a factual portrayal of refugees who were being marched by police and walking 8km from a train in Croatia to an official holding camp in Slovenia. You clearly remember it the way UKIP intended people to.

So Radio 4 isn't funded from a compulsory tax on anyone who has a television - which presumably is about 99 per cent of the U.K.

How did they get into Croatia? Refugee is a clearly defined condition once asylum has been granted so a rather presumptuous detail. You clearly remember it the way others intend you to.
Whereas our aid was directed to the people who needed it most - those left behind who really were the most in need. Helping the pushiest not the most in need is not a good policy. |

I don't care what you say about LBC's audience - one only has to listen to 30 minutes of phone-in to know. Maybe the intelligent, thoughtful, progressive types never make it to air. It should be rebranded "What I reckon FM" |

Every picture is propaganda in some way. The same picture stating they are refugees is propaganda. IT was used by UKIP as illustrative of how the EU was not working, not protecting its citizens and unable to control its borders effectively. Broadly true.

Nigel Farage’s “breaking point” posters were morally indefensible. Those Syrian refugees fleeing war had nothing to do with Britain’s borders. Far from winning support for Vote Leave, that poster handed the remain campaigners, keen to cast aspersions on the leave sides values and motives, ammunition. It cost us votes.

It is indeed funded from the TV licence. But if you choose not to watch TV, there is no licence required to listen to the radio.
And of that 4 per cent 1 million are estimated to watch tv on laptops or tablets - and if they just open the BBC iplayer app or website and watch 10 seconds of Eastenders they become liable to pay the licence for the entire year. It's hardly a tax most people can easily avoid. I would hate to think what sort of insulting comments some posters might make about the sort of people who don't own a television given their views of listeners of certain London based radio stations. ![]() Interestingly the highest concentration of tv licence evaders seem to be in the most remain voting areas. ![]() http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/about/m...tistics-NEWS31 We have got way off topic. Perhaps the point is - if you don't want to listen to Farage on LBC switch off. They are a commercial station and no one forces you to listen in or pay for it. And unlike the Dimblebys you don't have to pay an essentially compulsory £146 a year towards his fee. |

It works both ways and I enjoy listening to Radio 4 as well as LBC. Don't forget LBC is much cheaper to run and Radio 4, in my opinion, is well worth the Licence Fee itself ! LBC attracts a much wider demographic and, as such, is a great outlet to hear an equally wide range of views. |

Farage could have photoshopped his own great grandfather in that poster.
UKIP decided to run it because it was a real photograph, it showed the migrants to be male and young, and it was reminiscent of the poster the Tories used in 1979, which said, "Labour isn't working". The furore that took place over the poster later that day was merely a focal point in the wake of the murder of Jo Cox. |
