EE: A beautiful end for the two sisters

Loads of posts about Ronnie & Roxy's demise, of course .. they were a popular double act on this enduring soap.

Personally I think they got the story about right. First, we thought there was going to be a Thelma & Louise-type end in that gorgeous '65 Mustang. Then we thought maybe they'd fall off the hotel parapet (too contrived). Finally, into the pool they went and it was clear that Ronnie's voluminous attire would ultimately put paid to her efforts to save her drunk and drug-addled sister.

I thought the closing sequence was beautiful, with the lingering pull away from their lifeless bodies at the bottom of the pool .. together in death as they always were in life.

And finally - can't remember this happening before - complete silence as the credits rolled. Just perfect ... so sad, but perfect.

I personally much preferred this exit to one which focused on Carl, Charlie or Fatboy.

It stripped away all of the sensationalist plots that the sisters have endured.

They died as they lived their lives, tragically and inseparably. There was a real haunting beauty in that last scene which truly put them together forever.

I thought it was beautiful too. And very moving.
