Is it just me or are education standards in the UK falling further.

If you could barely type coherrant English sentences and were quite wealthy would you invest your hard earned cash on English lessons?

Or at least buy a device with a spellchecker or auto correct?

Happy New Year

Very true. My number one rule when ranting about spelling is to ensure that both of the S's are present in 'misspelled'.

And to broaden the appeal of this thread, I would claim that S's is correct but that CD's is wrong - it should be CDs.

This is one of the biggest LOL threads I've read for a long time
The OP post, serious lol and I bet you that the poster will now try and play along with its mistakes and pretend they were done on purpose - a seriously embarrassing and pointless thread IMO

Can we safely assume that the OP will ask DS to have its own thread removed!

I see you can switch between correct spelling and deliberately incorrect spelling at will.

No, we can't.

I much prefer this one to any of yours.

I assumed that typo was intentional as a dig at other posters. Was it not?

Even if it wasn't deliberate, the 'I did that on purpose' tack would be the best one to take in the circumstances

As long as the message is easily understandable then what's the big problem?

One possible problem is that your employment application might be rejected out of hand if you write it in barely coherent English.

Because often it isn't as is evidenced by the many misunderstandings that blow up on these forums.

... when it then appears to become entirely the fault and responsibility of the reader, rather than the author of the post.

You asked a question without using a question mark, you misspelled 'coherent', you put two spaces after the word 'English' (seems like the forum corrected that). So yes, it does indeed seem that education standards are falling. Also, what is your point about being wealthy?

And I make no claims to be a master of English, there is probably some errorz in what I just posted.
