Loved it! Early days obviously but very good so far. Lots of little storylines just waiting to be pulled apart and tied together.

Tired of detectives whose personal lives are relevant. Dont care if they have kids or their houses are messy.
In real life detectives come to work do their jobs and go home. Their personal lives are separate. It is the same with doctors, vets etc etc. No one cares about john plods personal lives. |

Would someone really walk over to a man like that in a supermarket and say "I hope you both die of f***ing aids and the kid too"

I thought it was good. A similar formula to the last one where forensics and good old fashioned police work get them to work out who the victim was/is. Looking forward to next week.

Very good; the main detective story was played out really well. Some 'right on' agenda in some of the side stories but I am sure we'll see how it all pans out.
. . One point of confusion I had was locations - Cassie and Sunil are London based but turn up in the Cotswolds which is surely Thames Valley or Gloucester police. Should one of those have to provide liaison? Another story seems set in Brighton or some South Coast resort. |

He's the son of the police officer whose husband's remains were found in the case, I think. Not that it's any excuse for his behaviour! Probably "explained" by some back story, though.

I thought it was good - it's a bit like a cross between New Tricks and Silent Witness, but for people who like their drama to have some relation to reality. First epi introduced a lot of characters, so I will need to pay attention to see how it all knits together
And for me there can never be too much Nicola Walker. |

Not sure if the lead investigator can farm out the forensic examination of a pager to her sons friend. If anything it will be the forensic department which will liaise with the private company, not the lead investigator. When a result is obtained they will give her a report.

Loved it! I am hooked already. Finally something to fill the void left by The Missing. Trying to guess how each of the story strands will link to the main case.

I suspect the suitcase body was gay. Explains the son's reaction. Getting bored with the profusion of gay story lines in police and crime programs now. However will watch further.

Who's the son of a police officer?

I thought that too. Possibly involved with Mark Bonnar's character (the short tempered barrister) 26 years ago. Interesting how that character was shown apparently getting a guilty person off in court and then later angrily keying someone's car.

The guy in the supermarket who abused the gay couple was a different actor (I'm fairly sure). |

I loved it and so glad that they've kept that lovely theme song, but with a fresh new set of images. On a shallow note, Charlie Condou and Mark Bonnar make a very handsome couple.

The son and the guy in the supermarket are 2 different people they just look similar, I think the guy in the supermarkets job was simply to insult the barrister so Tyler (floras stepdad) would see him keying his jeep and so give him leverage to blackmail him, just my opinion haha
I love the way it starts with all key characters and their lives now, the teacher, the barrister, the policewoman (dead mans wife) and the nurse. All will have some connection to the dead man, going to be interesting looking for clues. One thing I noticed, the dead mans wife was saying something about leaving after 25 years in the police, he was murdered approx 26 years ago, connection? The teacher was telling the class at the start that woman who kill do it because of, or for men, very interesting. Does the son or could his dad have autism or something similar? |

And for me there can never be too much Nicola Walker. ![]() Right- I did this for The Missing, so I am remaining to true to saddo-type and doing it again here: the images in the opening credits which will no doubt all turn out to be significant somehow. Tragic, I know, but the producers put them there knowing that nerds like me will take the bait: -pub-restaurant table set for two -sunlight & dust -woman in retro florals washing up -ruined pier -computer keybard -chequebook & pen -placards with slogans -posh front door -2 silhouette profiles -2 hands, one possibly bound -hand under a pub table passing something to another hand -church spire -gas towers -shadow on floorboards of someone holding scissors -sink with clothes being washed -striped sleeve (pyjama?) in water -credit card on a table with cocaine(?) -trees -girl's bedroom with posters of 80s popstars (Madonna, Nik Kershaw & Kajagoogoo...!) -tent interior -picnic -buoy & boat in water -wine glasses -fashionable terrace/club(?) exterior -tall modern building lit up at night -wardrobe of old-fashioned women's clothes (possibly with a suitcase) -exterior of tent Looking forward to seeing how all these turn up in the story
