Mark Bonnar. He's been in loads of stuff lately including Line of Duty, Undercover, Shetland and New Blood.

Couldn't the barrister just deny keying the car? Rather than allowing himself to be blackmailed. Just a thought.

Thanks, I couldn't remember his name but I did remember he played a character called Mick or Mike in Line of Duty now.

I really enjoyed the first series, so was looking forward to seeing this one but I cannot say It held my attention the same way as the last series. There was a few things that just seemed a little forced and disjointed this time round but I'll give it time and hopefully get into it a bit more.

Ah, that would explain why I missed the first series.

Enjoying this so far, though somewhat confused, and the dialogue wasn't that clear in places.

NOW I know why I have no recollection of this, thank you! (As an aside, River was bloody amazing!)

Didn't see it last night, was watching DIP, but I'll try and get it on Catch-Up at some point this week.

Enjoyed this drama, looking forward to the next few weeks. Lots of storylines to unfold.

Missed recording this. Tried to watch it on ITV>Player.
The quality was of not a high enough standard to suffer the adverts. So gave up with it.
I'll try recording next week's.

Just watched this.

Never saw the first series so this is all new for me. Nicola Walker is in it so I'm guessing it will be good, although, I got a bit confused as there were quite a lot of characters in it and I'm trying to keep up with who's who, but I'll stick with it as it could potentially be really good

All the characters are connected to the murder victim somehow and one (or maybe more) of them killed him. It was roughly the same in the first series.

Thanks.

I'll stick with it as I do love a good murder/mystery

I've always been a big Nicola Walker fan but it did get a bit confusing seeing her in two detective shows at the same time.

Does anyone know if there is going to be another series of River?

This from an interview in "The Killing Times":

Quote:
“ITV says this second series will continue to explore some of the themes of the first series, but the primary theme will be our society’s relationship with evil. When exactly does a good person start becoming defined by society as a bad person, and at what point in their life does a damaged child stop being exempted for their crimes allowing us to simply label them evil.”

Curious to see how the "damaged child" bit plays out- looks like it will be Jason, poor love.

Reviewers keep saying there are "four main suspects" here, but if this series goes down the route of the last one, it could be one of the secondary characters; by my count there are 10 suspects:

Cotswolds
-DS Tessa Nixon
-husband Paul
London
-Marion the nurse
-husband Tony
-sister Elise
-mother Wendy Craig
Brighton
-Colin the lawyer
-husband Simon
Salisbury
-Sara Mahmoud the teacher
-husband

Incidentally- a lawyer, a teacher, a nurse and a police officer for the 4 main suspects. They're certainly going with key workers as a theme here.

I got that feeling too.

Incidentally, I got a bit confused for a moment as there is/was an actress called Cassie Stuart who appeared in such programmes as Eastenders, Cardiac Arrest and Lovejoy (it says here).

Bad form to quote oneself, I know, but The Guardian filled in some gaps: the trees bit has a rope hanging from one of them, and the placards are protesting about H-Block prisoners. And the hand is allegedly passing drugs.

It was quite a surprise to see Wendy Craig playing the part of an 80yr old, but even more so that she hardly spoke at all. Surely an actress of her calibre will have a more central role in the coming episodes? Nice to see her again though.

She's well over 80 herself.

how the hell did that pager store any messages after 20 years?

you normally have about 1 minute to change the battery in a pager, then you loose your data.
20 years in water???

The first series introduced me to the best actor I have ever experienced on tv. I do not know his name, but he was in his seventies, with a sick wife, and had blond hair.

This series reminds me why British tv is so much better than American.
The women look normal. They are allowed to not wear heels, have fake teeth, tan, hair or nails.
