We have to remember that this is Sean O'Connor producing the program - no twists or interesting plot points, just do whatever is simple, plain, and banal, and pad the rest of the half hour with scenes about bins or carrots.

Well there was no twist, but tonight's half-baked filler episode certainly ruined last night's ending for me. No drama. No emotion. Nothing.

Ronnie jumps in the pool at 11:56 (according to Max's clock)
Ronnie stops moving at 11:58 (according to Jack's clock)
They are both still underwater at midnight (according to the big clock)

This means that Roxy will have been under for at least 10 minutes before anyone tries to save her. Ronnie would have been unconscious for 4 minutes before anyone can realistically perform CPR.

Chances are they're both dead but there is the slimiest of chances that Ronnie could survive but sadly, it's extremely unlikely!”

The 3 minute emergency threshold.

?? Jack was distraught, Louise, Ben, Sharon and Phil were upset; others were clearly stunned.
Just because they didn't scream/ get drunk/smash things up, doesn't mean that they weren't affected.

At best they all acted like somebody's pet died. A bunch of actors with water splashed over their eyes and getting cut off mid-sentence does not equal drama or emotion. Jack should have been going mad over why he didn't go looking for Ronnie when she didn't turn up as agreed the previous night, for instance. Glenda should have been (in the episode and) guilt-ridden for not being there for her daughters more when they needed her. Tonight's episode was a shambles and a total slap in the face to the two core characters the show had just lost.

Do you not remember Phil's reaction to Peggy's death? I know your mother and cousins are two very different types of people but with everything Phil has gone through, and with the capability of Steve McFadden, the moment Sharon tells him should have been absolutely heart-wrenching!
