I get up when I want except on Wednesdays (when I get rudely awakened by the dustmen!)

I live ten minutes' walk away from work, and we don't open until ten- if my boss is in then I don't start until half past (she opens the place, I close it). Alarm at eight, so I get a fair bit of snooze time before showering, walking the dog and going to work.

Mind you, I'd rather start earlier and finish earlier, given the choice.

Between 8.30 and 11 depending on how I feel and whether I have jobs to do for my Mother.

Leave for work at 11.45.

Very happy working part time, had to lower my hours because of my health.

Bloody poor though, but them's the breaks.

When I feel like it

You and I both Caxton.
Sometimes it might be when the bladder is sending a subtle message to the brain, saying now might be a good time to get up, but more likely it's when the cardiovascular system is whispering to the brain, "Coffee, coffee, now would be a good time to put up a strong black pot of it."

my father in law used to get up at 3am every morning for a pot of tea and a rollie, he couldn't last eight hours without a smoke

I've been off work for two weeks (for the first time in years) and I've been surprised how quickly I reverted to my university sleeping patterns. On the worse days I wasn't getting out of bed until after 10 - and it's not like i'm out partying or anything, usually asleep by midnight.

I've got myself on a better pattern now - was up at 8am this morning. Am off tomorrow as well but will be getting up at 7am on Wednesday morning for work.
That's exactly what's happened to me too Blue I've never naturally been an early riser, and being off work over Xmas, I'm getting up anytime between 10am-12noon and crashing again on the couch for a few hours. I'm dreading having to get up at 7.30am again next week.

We've got into terrible habits whilst Jr has been recovering over the last 2 months, obviously she'd slept a lot and sometimes slept through the day to 7pm, but I made sure I was up by 10am and waking her up regularly to take medication.

Back to school for her tomorrow part-time, but she's as respite so first day her carer's taking her in. After that it'll be up at 7 to get ready, get her up and out to school for 10 and bring her back at 2 until she has more stamina and can go full-time.

6.45 most weekdays. It used to be later on weekends but onvmce you have children, you don't have that option most of the time.

Saying that I have never been someone who stays in bed until mid day. Unless I've had a hangover.

Alarm is set for 7.30 but because we have one of those dawn simulator alarm clocks the light wakes me up around 10 minutes before the set time. I've never been a morning person, but with consistent routine I've managed to get comfortable with this schedule.

In the spring with more sunlight I can even manage a 6.30 a couple of times a week to squeeze in a morning gym before work.

I go to bed around 10pm to read or play candy crush on my phone, and lights out between 11pm and midnight. I'm not an easy sleeper, getting to sleep takes a little preparation, I can't just go to bed and be asleep in 5 mins.

When someone puts on a 1984 Matt Bianco track.

Around 7.45 to take my dog out. Anytime between 6.30 and 7.30 when the mornings become lighter again.

Between 7 and 7.30am as dog needs to go out for a wee and wants her breakfast too. You can't have a lie-in with a dog as she paws me to get up, seems to have an in-built alarm clock.

I wake up at 4.30 AM and am ready to go. I make a pot of Harrods tea before going a jog. Early mornings are best, all the lazy stop-in-beds frittering the day away leave it quiet for me thank you very much. Then home, glass of orange juice - fresh squeezed - and then call in to get the morning paper, home again for a warmed croissant with fresh coffee, crossword, then when I have washed up, hoovered and made the bed I am off to work. I like to be there prompt. Same for the weekend, naturally - and in bed not a moment after 10 after a light supper and little yoga - leaving those dirty-stop-outs to do whatever they do. Remember, every hour of sleep before midnight is worth two after.

I often get up earlier have a pee then make some coffee and go back to bed put the telly on and watch the news or a programme I have recorded, especially if it is a cold miserable morning.
