What have been your signature fragrances?
I was bought a gift set of Opium for Crimbo, a blast from the past. I usually wear the Jo malone cologne English pear and freesia.
Opium was what I used to wear in the 1980's. Still smells great but more a night scent than a day one. What do you wear? |

La Perla before they effed it up a changed the formula; it smells so odd and different now.
and Paloma Picasso I have a lot of perfume and they are too numerous to list, but I haven't found any fragrance to top these two. |

Is this thread open to men and women? I am a middle-aged man, so I hope that I am qualified to join in, lol. I think that the term "fragrances" applies to both sexes, so my gender shouldn't bar me from commenting. It's just that you didn't specify whether you prefer replies from men, women or both.
Anyway, I am a man, so I obviously buy and wear aftershave. I buy both aftershave splashes and EDT and I have no real preference for either. I think that splashes have a stronger scent, whereas EDT usually lasts much longer on the skin. Back on topic... I have various "smellies" for day-to-day use and I also buy more expensive ones for more special occasions. I usually wear Cool Water, Joop Homme and a cheapo one called Jovan Musk for everyday use. I used to like Old Spice, but I have gone off that a bit now. My special aftershaves include Aramis, Dior Sauvage, Chanel Pour Homme and Kouros. I have no real "signature scent", I just wear whatever I am in the mood for. These ones listed are the ones that I go back to most often, though. I hope this helps.... |

Karma by Lush or plain ole patchouli oil have been the staples for many years. Would love to find something a bit lighter though.

I used to buy my husband Elements by Hugo Boss but they stopped selling it. Then one day I walked into this little chemist in Victoria and they had some ancient bottles of it so I bought them

When i was younger I loved Tresoir by Lancome. I thought it made me smell sexy and sophisticated! If ever I get a whiff of it now, it takes me right back.
Now I wear Philosophy Amazing Grace by day and Narciso Rodriguez for her by night. I do love Karma too, as mentioned by a poster above. If you want something lighter but with that Jasminey smell, try See by Chloe. |

I wear Vera Wang and Vera Wang Princess a lot, as well as Nina by Nina Ricci.
I've recently got a sample of Creed's Love in Black, which is a tad stronger than my usual scents. I've discovered I tend to like quite modern fragrances. |

Belle de Nuit Intense by Fragonard. M&S used to sell it but have discontinued this particular fragrance even though it received 5 star reviews. And they wonder why their profits are crap. You can get it on line direct from Fragonard but then there is an expensive delivery charge.

I wear Clinique Happy every single day. The only time I change is if I am going somewhere of an evening, and then I wear Miss Dior.

The perfume business is a funny one. Notice how many posters say 'it's discontinued' or 'I can't find it any more..'
These houses don't seem to understand that once we find a fragrance we like, it does become a signature of sorts and therefore (unlike fashion) we don't necessarily want endless new ones. We want the one we like..it becomes 'mine' All my favourites are discontinued now. |

I wear Britney Spears perfumes all the time - I've got Fantasy, Hidden Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy, Island Fantasy, Circus Fantasy, Naughty and Nice remixes, Believe, Radiance, Cosmic Radiance, Curious and Private Show. Love them all
I don't have a 'signature' one as such as I wear different ones depending on weather, where I'm going or what I'm doing.

Fidji by Guy Laroche. Its old fashioned now and probably too light and subtle for modern tastes so its really difficult to get hold of. I absolutely love it and stock pile it whenever I find it.

We want the one we like..it becomes 'mine' All my favourites are discontinued now. When perfume sales start to flag I don't know why they don't just modernise the imagery and marketing for a fragrance that once proved popular but with a dated image. Instead they seem to want to spend money on reinventing new smells and creating branding to build awareness and poularity. It seems a lot more (costly) work than simply giving a successful fragrance a new veneer to make it seem up to date and appeal to new customers. In fact I would have thought that an element of longevity and a product that has stood the test of time would be a plus in the perfume market. You don't see Gordon's (Gin), Glenfiddich (Scotch) etc reinventing their product every few years. One of its appeals is its long lived, changing and traditional nature. I would have thought perfume was similar. |

My go to fragrance was Calvin Klein Euphoria, but I recently fell head over heels for Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile, gorgeous fragrance so I wear that all the time now - I'd bathe in it if it wasn't so pricey!
