The question is in the title but I was on bbc Character page and I noticed Glenda Cast card is back in the Mitchell which I thought it is very unusual if she was just back briefly now I could be wrong but it just weird

Same. I'm gutted she wasn't in it, this should have been her comeuppance.
Hopefully she'll stick around on the Square for her grandkids and stir up some drama, after tonight it's clear this show is in desperate need of it. She should take over the R&R.

I don't really feel "close" to Glenda as a character so I wasn't bothered about seeing her reaction... although judging from today's episode even if she had been in it, we wouldn't have seen her reaction anyway. Someone would have came in, said "Glenda, sit down we've got some bad news" and then she wouldn't be seen again until a few scenes later, sniffling into a handkerchief.

I dont see why, her kids are dead, she was hardly ever in it when they were alive!
I do love the character of Glenda though, thats why i am doubly pissed off that R&R have been killed, we will never see Glenda again after the funerals.
DAMN YOU SOC FFS!!!!

Given how poorly the episode was constructed, I suppose she was better off not being in it. But if the writers have any sense, they will make a proper story of it. Glenda's guilt over not being there for Ronnie and Roxy more is the only interesting bit of drama that can come out of this sad turn of events.

She is the grandmother of the children who have lost their mothers. You would surely stay around to help out and baby sit wouldn't you?

I have not seen tonight's. Sounds like I shoudn't bother. I hope she is back for more than the funeral otherwise what was the point of killing Roxy off. Only person likely to care about Roxy is Ronnie (and she is dead), so that just leaves Glenda.

According to Glynis' twitter, she hints that we will see her again but that could mean anything.

Sam and Grant were. Claudette is also in the cast which I made a thread about weeks ago. I think she is staying as recurring character which her axing articles seemed to suggest.

She retweeted alot of negative comments about the producer and her axing, and considering the ego on SOC, i doubt he will ever have her back now.

I cant see a Point in her Staying.

Glenda was a cold and distant Mother but ultimately i think she loved Ronnie & Roxy, her relationship with her Son Danny is somewhat strange. Glenda wont be sticking around I think.

I wish Glenda was around more but I feel that TPTB treat her character really poorly. She hardly gets any development and they always show her as some selfish gold digger when I think she could be so much better than that. I would have loved for her to fully repair her relationship at least with Ronnie. If would be interesting if Ronnie loved her mum while Roxy was a daddy's girl. There was a lot to be explored but they wasted her character and I doubt she'll be back after the funerals.

Glenda shared a lovely but brief moment with Ronnie last night, and it was Roxy who called her up in her hour of need in the first place, which showed that she really did care about her daughters. They should have honoured that in tonight's episode, so I'm hoping the reason they didn't is that they're setting up a whole storyline around it.
I'm not really interested in any of the other characters on the show and tonight proved why, they're all too worn out and desensitised by their own traumas that they can't even make grief over two loved ones look convincing.

You may have a point. Not sure why her, of all the characers who have left, is still there though.

Was Claudette actually axed or did the Actress choose to leave?

I hope not, we've just got rid of two Mitchells I don't want her and her useless son hanging around.

Thanks

She left when SOC was axing people. Very likely that she was axed.

The show needs a new bitch and Glenda fits that role to a degree but with her Daughters now dead there is no point. A recast Suzy Branning would be better especially as Max is now back.

Police told Jack last night that "Roxy's mother Glenda had been told" and that "she will be there tomorrow" to identify Roxy. So maybe that's why we didn't see her last night as it would of been repetitive if Jack and her are going to collide at the morge? One assumes if we do see this scene it will either be tonight or possibly Thursday as
Spoiler
Samantha Womack is credited on Thursday

According to both Digital Spy and The Metro, Glenda is in Monday 9th January. The Metro has the most to say and puts a slightly different spin on it to Digital Spy.

Meanwhile, it's a difficult day for Amy and Ricky as it's their first day at their new school. Jack is also having a tough time as he learns the truth from the coroner. This leads to a huge argument between Jack and Glenda.

Spoiler
As Jack looks set to lash out, Glenda is in the firing line but can she calm him down as everything gets on top of him?

Then of course there is the funeral episode(s).

At this stage Suzy would seem the logical one however Glenda always worked outside her daughters. I could see her as a friend to Kathy in a Carol/Glenda mish-match sort of way. Her and Ian have both lost daughters so perhaps they could forget the past and move on? Then her and Shirley could work as Freminies or out-and-out enemies.

She is Amy's and Matthew's grandmother so as a grieving mother could potentially be the interfering mother-in-law to Jack/Charlie forever more. Losing two daughters would have a profound affect on anyone. She did love her daughters so she might want to redeem herself somehow through her grandchildren.

Personally I don't care what happens because as much as I found Glenda ineresting and wanted her back, SOC did give her closure on Sunday. I hope he doesn't undo that in the coming weeks?

I dont think SOC will offer Glynis Barber a further stint and Liam Bergin is poor in comparison.

Well as said above I am not bothered either way. Will be glad if he does but Glenda got decent closure on Sunday imho.

As shown above we are definitely seeing Glenda again, the question is for how long? Glynis herself doesn't seem to like to stay anywhere for long.

As to Danny, that ship has well and truly sailed one would of thought.
