This is what I don't think SOC has thought about. Killing Ronnie and Roxy, two characters that could easily have stayed involved in the show on and off as the brothers have for over 20 years, is a massive mistake.”
I agree. I don't understand what the problem was with having them leave and move to Ongar/Ibiza/wherever with Amy and Matthew, either together or seperately (I'd have preferred seperately -maybe Roxy going to live with Glenda and Ronnie with Jack). They could have at least kept the door open for them. To be honest I didn't have a problem with the way they died (I thought the camera work was fantastic and I was gripped) but long term the decision looks dodgy especially from watching tonight's episode and seeing Scott Maslen's acting.
To answer the original question, neither, I prefer the Jay Brown/Ben Mitchell partnership.
Both of them have baggage, but there is clear adoration there that neither of them are afraid to be open about (making them infinitely better than Grant/Phil). At the same time it’s a balanced and healthy connection and they are also independent. Jay isn’t obsessive about Ben and vice versa in the way that Ronnie was about Roxy.
Grant/Phil and Ronnie/Roxy epitomise toxic siblinghood.
