Its an absolutely horrendous decision, yes they needed rested but to kill them off was ridiculous, future EP's wont have a chance to work with them in the future now, the whole thing just feels wrong.

The decision to kill them could have worked if there was a reason for it. Said this umpteen times but you had Max newly released with reason for revenge on Phil, their shady mum and brother suddenly back on the scene, Roxy's drug habit, Ronnie's endless number of past demons that could have come back to bite her on the bum. There were so many possibilities, lines of intrigue, that they could have pursued.

...instead we get a random accident and the most fall out is "I'm still moving to Essex".

Undoubtedly one of the worst major Xmas storyline conclusions EE has ever had.

I agree. A future EP is going to be cursing this when they need some MItchells to return to boost ratings in a few years. Ross Kemp probably won't return. Daniela Westbrook shouldn't be asked back so that leaves...eh....erm.... yeah no one.

Thank you ! It really is just absurd and the main reason I think the new EP will be awful for the show.
What on EARTH were the BBC thinking.

The BBC never learn their lessons. It's why EE is struggling. They kill off top characters and then rely too much on those that keep coming back like Shane Ritchie, Bianca, Ricky etc..

If they wanted a shock death they should have bumped Jack off. He wasn't missed when he left last time.

The return of Kathy should have been the eye opener the BBC needed that they should never kill core characters off and Ronnie in particular was one of those.
