Andy deserves it as he tried to kill Phelan and I'm loving seeing him squirm now and at his beck and call .
Is this actually a serious post? I can't work it out, some are obviously tongue in cheek, but I can't tell with this one.

Probably about as serious as anything can be regarding fictional characters I would imagine.

Problem is - some posts give the impression that the poster may actually believe what they are saying? I get that Phelan [ odious man that he is ] has become some sort of cult figure, but praising the Toad for indulging in blackmail, theft and fraud is perhaps a little ''over the top'' ?

I just see it as having a bit of fun with a fictional character and fictional situations, I certainly wouldn't be doing so if it was real and to be honest I don't think anyone else would either, all I see is some people trying to make others feel guilty about having that fun.

Phelan is the best thing on Coronation Street, Kate Oates has only improved Phelan since she took over.

It's just posters on a wind up!!

One poster made a joke about it, then like sheep others have followed up with it.

If those posters truly support what Phelan is doing, then it says more about the individual than anything.

Phelan is one of the best characters around at the moment.

He must be a good actor if most of you want him gone. I watch the Coronation Street for its drama - and Phelan certainly creates drama.

But now he doing things the old Phelan would not do like threatening Andys girlfriend if he does not do what he wants. I can understand the blackmail and all that. But now he is using violence to get money
But Andy tried to kill him TWICE!
How many times did he threaten Anna.

He made the poor woman have sex with him by using threats!
She didnt have to. she did it to protect her stupid great lump of a son who also tried to kill him. No wonder Phelan is a bit disgruntled.

I think he's brilliant
He's a good actor but there just seems to be too much badness there....... he is involving far too many people in his bids to make money ( after all it's just one small street).

Exactly, Gary was willing to go to the police, so the only reason she had for shagging Phelan was because she wanted to.

The character was decent villain the first time around, vile yes but a decent character

The latest storyline Ghandi is just farcical. heres how it should have gone

Phelan to Ghandi I know you tried to kill me so i am going to blackmail you
Ghandi back to Phelan You did not see me so get stuffed. Prove it

Phelan to Ghandi You tried to poison me and kill me
Ghandi to Phelan No I didnt, prove it. Get stuffed

End of story

And I see some people who are having "fun" trying to make others feel guilty for not finding it fun, but find the actions of a fictional character very uncomfortable to watch.

There's also an element of belittling those who find the character distasteful.

I really don't like being thought of, or my name being brought down to the level of an animal. Thanks.

I can't stand the man and he ruins the programme for me. I don't want him to die though as that may mean that all of his dastardly deeds don't get found out and Eileen will be going around mourning his death and proclaiming what a good man he was. I want him found out, outed to everyone, with evidence and then he can be carted off by the police. If he dies, it's too simple and then there will be someone else who has to go off to prison instead.
I want him to be found out too. I don't hate him but his mouth is really weird and I don't like watching him because of it

You haven't answered my post so I presume you're going to leave Anthropomorphism to the Disney Channel. They do it much better than you.

I doubt it. He has been back for a year and the writers are going in circles and recycling the same scenarios. It would be good if they did some development or explored him more.

Maybe Shona will turn out to be Phelan's daughter.

That's how I feel as well. He was a great baddy to begin with. I really did love to hate him. Kudos to the actor because he was very convincing when he first entered the street.

However, he's gone from a nasty (but very believable) slimey toad to a complete nonsense character. I said in another thread I find it very hard to believe that absolutely no-one who invested money in his scam aren't saying anything to him, Todd or Eileen. In my world £15k is a lot of money to lose and yet you wouldn't think it for how quickly EVERYONE seems to have just carried on as if it was just Saturday night's "beer money".

Ridiculous story line and a complete waste of what could have been a great villain.

Are Eileen and Phelan even aware that Billy keeps inviting some random woman to the house?

No, the only reason she had was keeping her son out of jail and stopping Phelan using her family as slave labour. Just because Gary was willing to go to the police doesn't mean Anna wanted him to.
