It was ok to start with but the Phelan stuff is getting boring now and not too believeable, so many holes in the Andy/Phelan story.

Bout time someone discovered he was in on the scam and they give him a break.

Phelan was nothing more than a dodgy builder type. Bit of a rogue. Then he came face to face with bully boy Owen, thug Gary and screeching banshee Anna. Owen threatened his wife and robbed his home. Gary tried to kill him. Anna had sex with him willingly to get her own way then accused him of rape.

I'd hate to live in your kind of world.

"A dodgy builder type/bit of a rogue" doesn't put all his assets in his wife's name to avoid paying any legitimate company he does business with (thereby destroying their business) declaring himself bankrupt. A totally immoral a**e of a criminal does.

Exactly, the poor bloke get's violently attacked twice yet he is still considered the villain, but I guess violence is ok as long as it's justified by the holier than thou self righteous ones who have never made a mistake, by the way I am referring to the fictional corrie characters who sit in judgment of Phelan as I am sure that description wouldn't fit any of this forums users.

You don't fool anyone - you think we're all stupid and don't realise that the emoticons put a lie to your last sentence. Hate to disillusion you, we fully realise it's another example of belittling posters. Subtle you're not.

Just come out and say it - in your opinion anyone who doesn't find Phelan amusing because he's a fictional character is stupid.

Don't worry if that is actually what I thought I would say it, and don't think you are even close to knowing me or how my mind works just because of a few post on this forum.

So calm down and relax a bit love.

What an extremely personal and judgmental post, if anyone seems to be belittling anyone it is you, can we not just stick to discussing the soap characters rather than singling out users and attacking them.

It depends how you define "willingly". Did he hold a knife to her throat? No. Did he hold her down and put a hand over her mouth? No. Did she actually want to sleep with him? No. Did she only do it because he was blackmailing her family? Yes. Did he only have sex with her to get his own way? Yes. Borderline rape, with consent only given under duress.

But there was no need for her to go through with the 'blackmail' as Gary had decided to go to the police, she could have supported Gary in that decision and helped him to explain to the police why he had hit Phelan in the first place, she chose not to do that instead choosing to shag Phelan.

She could have done, yes, but she didn't want to. Phelan could have gone to the police himself if he was such a victim but instead he got his kicks shagging a woman who was trembling and hating every second of it.

But the point is she still chose to do it, when she didn't actually need to.

I agree the best actor in corrie at the moment and probably for quite a while that's why it would be good if he stayed around, even if you don't like the character you have to like the actor for playing such a good and convincing part.

Can I just say seriously, I wish people wouldn't refer to the scumbag criminal as "King" Phelan he is nothing of the sort, he is a slimy confidence trickster, with a sideline in bullying, oozing fake charm and obsequiousness to the "right" people. The writing has ruined the character of Andy, who I doubt would have returned Kevin's phone, as he might guess it would incriminate him further.

I will be glad the day Phelan is found dead on the Red Reck with an iron bar round his throat, finishing off the work Andy started

Good actor, repulsive oily character.

I'm sure that's what Phelan tells himself to sleep at night, or would do if he was actually bothered and wasn't busy chortling about what he did to her instead. But her choices were decidedly limited.

Maybe it's time we define ourselves. I can't speak for you but I like to live a reasonable carefree life surrounded and conversing with eclectric people. I also enjoy nonsense as well. To define anyone by some of their posts after questioning if they're serious or not about it is a stretch. Life itself can bring troubles to us but sometimes not half as much as we bring upon ourselves. If you want to dish out an opinion be it popular or unpopular that's fine, but don't get bent out of shape if you get a response in kind. But don't try to write a diagnosis under the guise of an opinion. It doesn't wash. This is not directed at you but you used the define word, a word that always gets my interest.

Limited maybe, but she still had a choice and she made the wrong choice.

Are Eileen and Phelan even aware that Billy keeps inviting some random woman to the house?
I don't think so. Eileen would have a fit if she new about it. So it can lead up to a moment like on Emmerdale when Moira saw Ross for the first time and realized he was her nephew.

Why Dave??? Just Why?? Why do you continue with these wind up posts? I've read numerous posts of yours on the Phelan subject and I know (or at least I hope I'm right) that you're just on a massive wind up. What do you get out of winding people up so much? I know you're a wind up merchant and yet every time I read one of your posts it sends my blood pressure soaring.
