After Roxy went under, Ronnie tried to save her..

Max, naturally wondering where they'd gone, would have gone looking, he rescued Ronnie but couldn't rescue Roxy.
For some (yet unknown) reason, Ronnie had to flee.

But Glenda, after discovering Max had given Roxy drugs, threatens to call the police.

Max pushes Glenda in and she drowns.

Hence two blond haired girls found in the swimming pool,
Also hence why we haven't seen Glenda's reaction yet..
Hence again why the bodies are yet to be identified..
And finally, hence why Sam Janus appears again in a few days

But the police have identified the blondes against the photo of Ronnie and Roxy so that theory wouldn't work!

Imagine the shock duff duff if Ronnie just appeared alive

Jack finds out the reason why Ronnie/Roxy dies next Monday and Glenda is in those episodes telling him it's too soon to let his kids go to school.

I like this theory, but why does it have to Roxy dying? She was always the better actress and better character, so why can't she be the one to come back?

However, I've said right back to Glenda's first appearance what brilliant casting to cast Glynis Barber (still can't see her as Harry Makepeace though!) as their mum - the resemblance to Sam Janus in particular is remarkable, so to me at least it's perfectly feasible for a mistaken identity outcome.

I've thought the casting was spot on too. The only thing is that they probably noticed Ronnie as the bride as she was in a huge wedding dress
