the episode where we find out why Michelle has returned airs on the 12th, Metro says it is a special episode but not technically a 2 hander

It clearly state it's a two hander.

In a two handed episode, that all changes when Michelle finally opens up to Sharon about what has happened and what has prompted her to come home without warning after two decades

the metro article does state that, but i tweeted the writer of the article and i asked is it defo a two hander as the cast list doesnt tally up with it being a two hander and he replied with this

Duncan Lindsay ‏@DuncanLindsay 38m38 minutes ago
@Lad45Mark No, not technically but the focus is fully on the story and the scenes

plus we know Dot is in the episode as well

None of the spoilers which DS posted are for Thursday's episode. The cast list is fairly big http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b088nrs8 so I don't think they will just be in the background.

There'll probably just be the odd few scenes with other characters in between the shocks/surprises which Michelle reveals to Sharon.

Will be similar to the Sharon/Ian episode of 2015 then, mainly focusing on them but with the odd scene in between. I wonder why they didn't make that episode or this one a 2 hander

Perhaps they just didn't have enough material to extend it for the whole episode. The Sharon/Ian episode was still really good even though it wasn't a two hander.

Another spoiler for this episode is 'Dot worries about her cat'

http://metro.co.uk/2017/01/03/easten...ready-6358432/

Also these spoiler photos may show why there's a long cast list - I think an upset Michelle will leave halfway through the party and the rest of the episode will mainly be just Sharon and Michelle talking.

I feel silly now.

Unless it contains a spectacular storyline and I really do mean spectacular, it sounds as appealing as a shakil monologue episode.

I'm glad it's not a two hander, couldn't take an entire half hour of Sharon's 'acting'.

I hate the 'two handed' episodes, and one between Michelle and Sharon would just be torture. Michelle had to come back with a shedload of baggage though didn't she? It couldn't possibly be just because she fancied a holiday!

Well, yeah. The character's been off screen for twenty years, she's missed her parents funerals, her brothers funeral and various family occasions including both her brother's weddings... she's obviously back because she needs help or needs the support of her family.

If she had just come back for a holiday, blimey... this forum would've gone nuts! "SOC should be burnt at the stake for recasting Michelle for no reason" - I can imagine it now.

Didn't one of the very first two-handers feature Michelle & Sharon, when she told Sharon that Den was Vicky's dad?

they did a one hander once with just dot talking into a tape recorder....

I wonder if they could better that and be brave enough to try a no hander. Just scenes with no characters in, but things going on.....

If he's sexually frustrated an episode involving him alone could technically be classed as a two hander

And that Kat/Whitney episode a few years ago, which unfortunately featured the Ginger Whinger.

I often have a nice two hander when Fitney shows off her cleavage.
