The house pix are very good , but thanks for the reply .I think it's the one bedroom that's keeping people away possibly.

A one bed house has limited appeal, so you have to price it accordingly. You may have dropped the price 3x but clearly not enough, however as you say you might strike lucky with the neighbour being interested.
Its a sellers market and has been for a while so ultimately everything comes down to price. |

That's not necessarily true. Property in my locality isn't particularly expensive, crime free area, and very quiet yet any up for sale are often on the market as long as op's.
One problem today is buyers have very high and often unrealistic expectations with virtually zero ability to see potential of what they could do to make a house 'theirs'. |

A one bedroom home will only appeal to young first-time buyers or pensioners, both of whom have limited funds. Unless you can sell it as a "stylish bachelor pad" - you may need to change the furnishings to sell this idea to buyers.

Well I've just rung our estate agents ,and they say the price is very competitive and since we've already lowered it 3 times , they seem to be at a loss too.The photo's are very good, the house can't be improved on so they are going to contact the people who did want it but couldn't move to see where they are at .
I think people do need help to buy these days .If we hadn't helped our daughter with the deposit she'd never have got a house . |

Out of interest, when they say its competitive, what with? Are there lots of one bed houses near yours and what did the last one sell for and what is yours on for?
It has an advantage over a flat, as I presume its self contained, free hold and has a garden? But it would need to be priced for the same price as a one bed flat to be competitive |

No, it wouldn't. Not if it was self-contained, freehold, with a garden etc, as you yourself just said.
The problem with a one bed house, its its not one thing or another, so they have limited appeal, so to get people interested you have to pitch it at the same level as something comparative. A lovely victorian or edwardian conversion with big rooms and windows, a garden flat with share of freehold might be more attactive, it depends where the house is, whats around it, size etc. |
