England is the most densely populated country in Europe. Schools are bursting, you wait weeks to see your GP unless it's life and death, roads are jam packed, average house prices are ten times average salaries so young people cannot afford to build a future and our infrastructure and public transport system is under severe strain.
Quality of life drives happiness - not material wealth. And if you keep adding more people to the mix each year it's not going to get better. |

The UK is not the most densely populated country for a start and it's easy to blame immigration for roads, house prices, schools etc. You're deluded if you think things would be any different without immigration.

Sky is as biased as the BBC. And we know polls mean Jack these days anyway.

And who should we blame for this shambles? Of course, it's the Tories! But densely populated? I don't think so, most of the country is virtually uninhabited or in the hands of big landowners. It's us plebs who make up the dense population for putting up with it!
Very little of the country is unused, despite the fact that some people seem to think an empty field is a waste of space. So the country post-brexit is more unhappy is it? I suggest building over green spaces to accommodate yet more immigrants is a sure way to induce misery. |

It's not racist when it is factually reporting happenings in Europe.
It is racist when it is used as propaganda with a snappy 'spin' caption created to stir up irrational fear . I don't understand how people don't see this. Propaganda comes in many sizes, shapes and forms. |

Ironic that the OP talks about a nation divided and you come out with a sneering, elitist, leftie remark like this. Why am I not surprised?
So many things wrong with this it's baffling. First of all, anyone that has concerns about the numbers of people entering a country and the effects on the infrastructure, crime rates, schooling, quality of life, medical care - they are automatically racist are they? Just because they want limits to the numbers of other human beings from other countries coming here? Racist? Do yourself, and everyone else, a favour and go buy a dictionary. Quote:
A racial prejudice is a negative attitude towards a group of people based on race — not on direct knowledge or experience. If you prejudice someone, you cause them to have a negative attitude towards someone else.
Quote:
nationalism Seems clear enough to me.ˈnaʃ(ə)n(ə)lɪz(ə)m/ noun noun: nationalism patriotic feeling, principles, or efforts. "an early consciousness of nationalism and pride" synonyms: patriotism, patriotic sentiment, allegiance/loyalty to one's country, loyalism, nationality; More xenophobia, chauvinism, jingoism, flag-waving, isolationism; ethnocentrism, ethnocentricity "the resurgence of nationalism in Europe and in other parts of the world" an extreme form of patriotism marked by a feeling of superiority over other countries. plural noun: nationalisms "playing with right-wing nationalism" Quote:
You've taken a huge leap from where most Brexiteers are on immigration and labelled them all as discriminatory.
where did I say "all"? ... what was that about 'huge leaps' again?Quote:
You say the lack of hatred behind it doesn't make it less racist - it's not racist in the slightest to want lower immigration numbers. If you really believe that then there isn't much hope for you.
I repeat, saying you don't want people of other nationalities or races coming here is the epitome of racism as the stated reason for not wanting them here is quite clearly based only on the their race and or nationality (not forgetting the prejudicial remark about 'crime rates')if you think that has nothing to do with racism then clearly there is no hope for you, (I can do personal too if you like) Would you, for example, object to a British family who have lived in another country for 40-50 years coming here to live, many of them not born in this country? and if not why not? could it be because they are British and therefore you would have no objection to them coming here? if that is the case, then quite clearly your objection towards the non British people coming here is based on nothing more than them being of a different race or nationality, what would you call that? Quote:
The reason the country is divided is precisely because of people like you who accuse more than 17 million people of being racist just because you don't know what the word means!
Nope I am not the one saying that 17 million people voted to leave because of immigration, YOU are, clearly you seem to be struggling with the concept that being opposed to someone moving here for no other reason than their race or nationality (oh and not forgetting that they might be criminals of course,) is not a racist, or nationalistic or xenophobic attitude, I did not accuse 17 million people of being racist, although you accused me of doing so, many people voted to leave the EU for reasons which had nothing whatsoever to do with immigration, interesting that you believe all 17 million of them voted to leave because of immigration and nothing else though. a simple rule of thumb, not everyone who voted to leave the EU is a racist, but almost every racist who voted will have voted to leave. |

Your bias against the EU is ludicrous and prejudiced. Europe faces problems and so does the UK but you ain't seen nothing yet due to Brexit bigotry and foolishness.
Things will get an awful lot worse while you slump in your armchair full of complacency and ignorance in your strange little world of make-believe and nostalgia. |

No, it is absolutely not bias. The Brits were imploring Merkel to support their plan to set up refugee camps in Syria, Jordan et al so people could be evaluated prior to coming into Europe. She wilfully ignored them because of her own political agenda. I don't know whether it's German people or German politicians who have such a woeful lack of empathy with the rest of the world, but she managed to prove at least a part of that on her own. In the meantime, we Brits were aware that somebody somewhere needed to take control but nothing happened. The unfortunate result was that, as an electorate, we decided we're better off doing our own thing rather than slumping in our armchair and watching the powers that be in Europe f**king up everything we hold dear..
Surely the reverse is true isn't it? Are the refugees/immigrants not part of 'the rest of the world'? |

Not everyone who is anti-immigration is racist, but all racists are anti-immigration.
