Were these not voted before Ashley's big episode? Could explain why he is excluded. Not sure why Danny Miller is there, I suppose he's hugely popular outside of DS.

Hope Natalie wins, someone different to Lacey and Danny for once.

The shortlist has been announced.

Best serial drama performance:
Jack P Shepherd.
Lacey Turner.
Natalie J Robb.
Danny Miller.
None of these are worthy...Not even Ms Robb

You don't think Natalie is worthy? The episode were Moira first finds Holly is haunting and that is mostly down to her superb acting.

No John Middleton is like a huge oscar favourite being excluded from a nomination. No wonder soaps are not that respected. The three best actors/actresses this past year - John Middleton, Gilian Kearney and Steve McFadden are not even in the list.
That's because their names aren't Daniel Miller, Danielle Miller or Dan Miller. Totally agree those three have been the best this year.

I suppose it's because of his hard-hitting (hurriedly thought-out and hugely ret-conned) sexual abuse storyline. I know I'm in the minority, but I found it hard to distinguish it from his other storylines, as they all involve him crying buckets and lashing out at everyone. Out of those nominated, I hope Natalie J Robb wins, but I highly doubt it, as she's a woman aged over 40.

Exactly. All of Danny Millers performances have been exactly the same over the years. He has absolutely no range has an actor.

In a minority, maybe, but not alone.

This. He always does this thing where he huffs and glances sideways in amost every scene he's in.

Yet he is always placed above John Middleton because of the 'Fandom' because he's viewed as 'young' and 'hot'. Personally I think John Middleton is a very handsome man

I had no idea who john Middleton was I had him pictured as someone else but people are not going to vote for 63 year olds as best actor however wrong that is

I started watching ED regularly when DM had left after the Jackson storyline. When I heard he was returning, the reactions of other posters led me to expect a Messiah-returning performance, but it's been less than stellar for me.

In a minority, maybe, but not alone.
Good to know - I was a little reticent to air my views! I know he has a huge following, but the sight of his screwed up little pasty-face really does nothing for me.

No John Middleton

There are definitely a few more I would put way before Danny Miller but it is a public vote so we shouldn't be surprised. At least no Danny Dyer

And Faye Brookes. Feel like she has been a newcomer for ages now

I agree John Middleton should have been nominated over Danny Miller. I'm really glad Natalie Robb has been nominated. She deserves to win easily out of that lot, in my view.

Apart from DuncanFromBlue (who couldn't act his way out of a paper bag), I don't know who any of the newcomers are.

He most certainly is. Though also a very talented actor who gives it his all.

Ditto. Glad to be of service.

I don't think it had its best year this year but more than likely will win. I think lacey will win serial drama performance though

Here here!

His performances are sublime. He always gives 100% into his performances and seems to research very well for his storylines. One of, if not, the best actor in soap.
