So there's coinage/notes and the national anthem, but what else will change?

The "ER" crest on police badges, any new postboxes etc.

Everything which is currently "Her Majesty" - HMRC, HM Prisons, text on passports, etc - though largely these are just "HM" anyway rather than in full.

Not a huge amount really.

I just realised that all the notes will have Charles on them. I've nothing personal against the chap (I'm no oil painting), but, the notes will look strange. Ol' Queen Lizzy scrubs up quite well on them, but Charles?

One word will change in the anthem , coins will be phased in as and when new ones are printed the same with notes. Other items will happen as they are needed and when practical they will not rush to do them overnight.

The queen looks better on the notes than she does in real life. I'm sure they can get a photogenic image of charles from somewhere.

Products with "by royal appointment to her majesty the queen" on them will have to change their packaging/stationery/websites etc. if it's on them.

There's quite a few (filter by grantor) - https://www.royalwarrant.org/directory

Edit: And the ones that say Prince of Wales too!

We'll send you some Scottish notes if you like. None of your English monarchs on those...

Does Harry then become the Duke of York?

It'd be much appreciated, although I'm currently living in Australia, and I have a feeling republicanism looms upon the death of the Queen.

Everyone with a British passport will have to send it in and be issued with a new one with the words 'Her Britannic Majesty' changed to 'His Britannic Majesty'. This will take about eight to twelve weeks so a lot of holidays and overseas business trips will have to be cancelled.

Hay I was working up in Scotland mid November, haven't been since I was atleast 11-12 years old, loved the notes up there when I drew them out of the Cash point, I had to keep one to show the Misses

easily amused

I don't see any appetite for it. I think if Chuck has half a brain he will make big changes and pass a lot onto William for a more modern looking royal family. That's my hope anyway.

I meant here in Australia with the loom of republicanism. I'm in two minds - the British me quite likes it (even with the ethical objections - a monarchy agnostic if you will) but the Australian me is a republican.

Careful some of the hard of thinking will think you are serious and start a panic.

Does the money have to change? couldn't the Queen stay on it if Charles chose that?

The changes don't need to happen all at once.

When Charles becomes king, will the title Prince of Wales become vacant?

An eminent lawyer will be known as a King's Counsel (KC) rather than a Queen's Counsel (QC).

Charles will possibly change his name when he becomes king. He has a choice - he could choose Charles, Philip, Arthur or George. If he chooses Charles he would be Charles III and the first two didn't exactly have a successful time as monarchs. Charles I was beheaded and Charles II had a troublesome time as monarch.
