Ever since it was announced that they filmed Ronnie/Roxy alternate endings I didn't believe it as they wouldn't bother to waste time and money on it. However when it was announced that it would be released, I was interested. This turned out to be a 7 second clip on Snapchat.

Atleast we got something but it feels like that they didn't even bother filming anything other than those in this short clip. It was quite sly to put it on Snapchat as all videos there are 10 seconds and people would complain (even more) if the 7 second video was posted on Facebook.

Also the scenes in the video didn't require any big stunts so it would be really easy to film quickly (Rita pretending to fall / lying on a table + Sam screaming 'She's dead').

So to summarise do you think they just filmed the 7 seconds in the video so that they could actually say without lying that they filmed an 'alternate ending' or that they filmed more longer full scenes but didn't release it?

I would've liked scenes like how 'Who Killed Archie' had full scenes for the alternate endings.

On a side note I noticed that Jane Beale, in her wheelchair, was spotted filming at the wedding venue in October but wasn't in the actual episode.
Yes, she was, she was sat on Ian's right at the ceremony. Neither featured other than as background guests - glorified extras, really.

I don't know why they even bothered. It was a shameless way of the Beeb trying to get people to add them on SC and it worked. Shame the content was so awful! The woman running it looked like an amateur. The images were grainy and unprofessional and in all honesty I expected better.

As for the lack of Ian and Jane, there was a distinct lack of anyone! It was all Ronnie, Roxy, Jack, Max, the kids and Mick. For all his community based rubbish over the last few months, a genuine opportunity to further explore that "community" was completely lost and they may as well not of bothered!

I think they knew all along they were going with the swimming pool exit so won't have gone to the time and expense of filming alternate endings.

Soaps ALWAYS say this , supposedly to throw people off the scent but it rarely works. As many have already said, alternative endings would generally require alternative aftermaths (apart from EE Archie's murder) and there's no way they could have time to do that!

Even though it was announced they filmed alternate endings a few months ago, I don't think anyone was expecting bits of it to even be shown. It probably would've been better if they didn't even show the clip of the other endings. People online seem to be outraged that they wasted 1-2 hours waiting for it and it angered some that Ronnie could've survived eventhough it was an 'alternate' ending and never going to be the real one.

Of course they didn't, wasn't it originally said 4 endings were being filmed, what looks to have happened is they filmed some scenes showing what could of happened(Roxy overdosing or Ronnie falling off the roof) all it has done is cause confusion because it was so quick and barley showed anything

And then you have the people who think they chose the ending on the night, which is just not true at all,

they must have filmed more than that. I mean one shot of Ronnie was at a hospital.

I also don't get that Ronnie survives in one of them (Roxy dead on the pool table). How on earth would they have ran the aftermath episodes if Ronnie was alive?!

Everyone must have known that this was the ending they were using

They did, it would of been known from the very start that they both died in the swimming pool, the hilarious thing is that the alternative endings didn't even leak, whereas the real ending did

I think the Ronnie in hospital scene could've been filmed while they were filming the scene in hospital where the Mitchell sisters met Phil. They were mainly trying to avoid the press from finding out rather than the cast. It would probably mean in that alternate ending Roxy's death wasn't the duff duff but rather the confirmation of death in the hospital.

In November there was speculation that them falling off a wall could've been what happened to them since photos showed Ronnie walking back to the wall and Roxy wasnt there.

while the Sun did report they would fall off a wall, they got the swimming pool and Ronnie's wedding dress drowning her spot on

Did I see pictures of Jay and Ronnie frolicking about on the lawn? They seemed to be chasing something. That was obviosuly a wild goose chase for the paps.

Its bad enough getting offed by a killer wedding dress. Ugg boots would have been adding insult to injury.

No I think that was just Sam and Jamie messing about in-between takes!

I don't think they did because too much went into the direction and art of Ronnie & Roxy's death scene. Too much time and money would of been spent setting up those last 10 minutes for them to waste it by not using it. The BBC are having to budget as it is.

That's not to mention all the subseqent scenes with Jack et al finding out, grieving etc. The EE budget would of been stretched enough filming the swimming pool stunt and hiring out the hotel without wasting money on weeks worth of scenes that would of played out differently if Ronnie had survived.

That snap shot was probably filmed in 5 minutes, an hour tops. Even then it was probably only released before people began asking about the alternate endings.

ive been telling people ever since it was said there would be "multiple" endings that there really wouldnt, as ive said before i dont see the point in these snap shot endings as it didnt put the press off anyway

I dont think they did. They may have written more then one ending just incase they thought another ending was better, but doubt they filmed them all. That short clip was probably just that..nothing more. They just wanted us to believe there could be another ending as someone leaked the pool death.

I'm confused because I've never heard of "Snapchat" before, and now lots of people are talking about an alternative ending on it. What actually happened in the alternative ending? And what was the point of it being on this obscure snap chat thing? If they wanted to do an alternative ending, why didn't they just put it on YouTube or the BBC i-player so that more people can see it?

it really wasnt even worth showing, it was a 10 second montage of Roxy on the pool table dead, someone(i think it was Roxy) shouting after Ronnie seemingly fell off the wall and then Ronnie in the hospital screaming that Roxy is dead, it was a mess really, if they really wanted to do alternative endings, then they should have of least done it properly

there is a link to the alternative ending

Roxy fell from the wall - not Ronnie.

Ah was it Roxy, my mistake, seems dumb that both the alternative endings had Roxy die in them, would of made more sense to have had one where only Ronnie died

I've probably not been paying full attention but I don't recall one scene since their deaths that mention HOW they died apart from the policeman telling Jack and Max about the pool CCTV. All other scenes would have fitted in with any story line in which they both unexpectedly died.

Whether they actually filmed any alternatives is another matter of course.
