Corrie or Emmerdale?

Sorry if I should have posted this in the 'advice' section 🤗

I'd like to get into another soap (you all make them sound so exciting)

Out of CS and ED, which am I likely to catch up on quickly?

I tried CS several times a couple of months ago but it just didn't keep my attention.

I know it's a subjective thing, but which has a faster, dare I say more dramatic storyline?

Thanks for any input.

Emmerdale - I really enjoy it. I struggle with Corrie.

Emmerdalr is probably easier to get into out of the two but Hollyoaks is my favourite

I think Emmerdale is terrible ATM, you're better off with Corrie or Hollyoaks

I agree in thinking Emmerdale might be easier to get into. A bus seems to have arrived in Corrie with new characters in it then to explain them. The prodigal Barlows, why is Ken impersonating Marlon Brandlow, Shona, Maria is banged up, banged up then well banged up in HMP Corrie. Adam the Canadian solicitor that became a car scammer on the flight over from Toronto then forgot about that side of himself. Billy left the priesthood, had a road to Damascus moment met Rob Thatcher from The Bill then decided to be a priest again. Oh me 'ead.

You forgot to mention that was just the first episode of two last night.

Both shows are fantastic, and I watch every episode of each show.

My highlights of recent Corrie episodes/plus what's coming up include: Phelan blackmailing Andy (and then being responsible for him and Steph to leave), the rumoured garage arson stunt, Adam/Peter scheming to get the factory, Michelle to lose the baby (and hopefully leave Steve). My only downside is Mary didn't leave.

For Emmerdale, I've enjoyed the Ashely dementia story (if 'enjoyed' is the right word, it has definitely been educational), Emma scheming, Lachlan going to prison, Cain leaving Moira and her grief plus Kerry's downward spiral.

Both soaps have their 'doom and gloom' stories but also have comedy scenes, Corrie can be more cringey (especially Sally and Tim).

I would say Emmerdale

Emmerdale will probably be easier to get into a the moment, it is currently just filler storylines but it'll give you chance to get to know the characters before the bigger stuff comes later on.

I'm enjoying Emmerdale more than Corrie at the moment.

But EastEnders is better than both of them currently.

I find the production and acting on Corononation Street much better than Emmerdale at present.

Both are excellent and whichever you choose I'm sure you'll grow to enjoy it. I've got into Emmerdale over the last couple of months and it's good having two Soaps to watch.

Emmerdale. I can barely watch Corrie at the moment.

I love Emmerdale. I used to watch Corrie but stopped watching it several years ago as I stopped enjoying it. So Emmerdale from me

The Ashley dementia isn't a filler storyline - it's one of the biggest.

It's not even a tough choice.......it's Emmerdale.

It's been the top soap for the last 5 or 6 years now.

It's so much more balanced than the other soaps.

Yes but current form must be considered too, on this basis imo it could go either way and there would be reasons for watching both

It has been a little pants of late - I've felt rather disappointed with it. I'm waiting for it to pick up on the Ashley SL again to regain my interest.

I watch both but prefer ED. And why are you poking fun at someone who has suffered a stroke. A couple of my friends speaks this way after suffering from a stroke

The Ashley story is the only thing worth watching, I'm really fearful what we will be left with once the dementia story is over.

ED' not at its best admittedly but it's still better than Corrie and the Aidan/ Maria snorefest.
