Listening to the news seems a concern that aside from a vigil tonight. Other protests in West Yorkshire.
Interesting the words,,straight off black loves matter. Grow up. Don't think I can recall a year when Police shot and killed 10 people. USA Police seem to kill a person a day. Think some arseholes in this country need to move to the USA and realise how damn good the Police in this country are. |

No it doesn't. It's a shoot to STOP. Sometimes the people getting shot die. Often they don't. If it genuinely was a shoot to KILL policy, most people who got shot would die as a result, and that's not the case.
Quote:
Nope. It's the difference between shooting someone until they've stopped being a threat, and shooting until you're sure they're dead. So say, 2-3 rounds centre mass, then walk up and one to the head.. Which becomes an execution and murder/manslaughter.
Quote:
It isn't. It's a likely effect, but the reasonable force law justifies it.
The policy is to stop someone, and once they are not a threat, there is no further intent to kill someone if they are still alive, which they can be. And it is going to backfire again. |

Would have been a lot simpler if WY police had issued the armed police with bodycams so that much of the guesswork could be removed. But for some reason they decided not to.

You can wrap it up in any way you want but it is a shoot to kill outcome.
And it is going to backfire again. |

Flashing lights where? At the front of the car where the headlights are? Because there were no lights on the car roof. It was an unmarked Mercedes. I'm just curious more than anything.

And it is going to backfire again. If anything is going to 'backfire', it is the rest of us fed up of gunned up drug dealers who pretend to be misunderstood minorities. |

Some people here have mentioned the banners yesterday, that were held by folk in a demonstration against the police. It only seemd to be local at the moment, by people who've got the time to be standing out in the freezing cold.
If this was an honest and hard-working man...shot dead for no apparent reason, I'm sure a whole lot of people of every race/religion would be loudly protesting the heinous shooting. As it were, the lack of national vigils, is probably due to the character of the man. I feel sorry for his family, but judging from the interview his father gave, he seemed quite spoilt too. Not to mention the other dealings he had. A horrific way to go, but personally...for me, it's very hard to muster up sympathy. |

The reality is that this guy was likely a real piece of work, a major player, well known to the police with a criminal history, and was armed. No sympathy from me either. |

And it is going to backfire again. Stopping an assailant is the intent, killing may be the outcome (or not) due to the methods that have to be used. I'm sure we'd all like a non-lethal alternative to firearms, but there isn't one with anything like as good a probability of preventing a criminal killing someone when they have a lethal weapon of their own. |

Apparently the road from the M62 has been closed again as hundreds have turned up for an impromptu vigil.

What's the alternative when faced with armed criminals? As not all persons shot die, it clearly isn't a kill outcome everytime. The monster that killed Lee Rigby was shot, but is still with us.

If it is BLM ( the UK arm) then they are a complete waste of space and an embarrassment to any racial awareness campaign. |

These things seem to have a common theme. The dead person is always touted as "a loveable rogue, wouldn't harm a fly. Loving family man" gunned down by our merciless, fascist police force who could have simply given him a bullet in the knee to put a stop to his tomfoolery.
The reality is that this guy was likely a real piece of work, a major player, well known to the police with a criminal history, and was armed. No sympathy from me either. The father has said that his son didn't have any convictions and the cars were part of the family business. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-38509806 |
