Haha I love this thread because I was thinking the exact same thing only the other day!

One minute Stacey tells him how they're struggling to pay the rent on the flat, then they move into the big house, struggle again when Belinda's business goes under....yet now they've lost rent from Belinda AND Kyle yet there's no mention of any difficulty suddenly paying the rent alone!

That market must pay a fortune. I'm in the wrong game!

Wasn't that from Sharon selling her share of The Albert?
but could she really have afforded to give 100K of the sale away to him like that when she didn't have a place of her own to live with her son ( she was pursuing a divorce with Phil at the time), and how did she have a further 500K to bid for Number 5 Albert Square shortly after?? where did all this wealthy come from in such a short time? from managing a nightclub then a bar for a couple of years?

Tonight was even better. Martin handing a load of notes to Michelle for towels and getting all excited about other household items she was showing him on the laptop. Those bananas must really have taken off in January!

The Sharon stuff cracks me up too now that it's mentioned again. I still have never gotten over her decision to give Gavin 100k and basically say "Please go away now. Now you will promise not to come back won't you?" As any good con artist would, he came back anyway after taking it and she never seemed remotely concerned that she'd just spunked 100 grand for no reason at all.

A house that size would easily cost £2,000 pcm in east London 💰💰💰
Being realistic 80 per cent of the cast would in reality be living out in Essex and most of the square would be Asian.

In the real world Martin and his family would be lucky to afford a privately rented one bed flat even with housing benefit in Tower Hamlets. Who is their landlord - maybe he is very generous?

For couples, the housing benefit cap in London is about £442 per week. So even if they are paying £500pw in rent, then wouldn't they be able to afford to live there?

He's secretly minted. Future storyline = he's actually a penny pinching millionaire !

"oh yes that's the one!" like a child in a sweety shop..

Well now that him and Michelle are sorting out Arthur's old allotment he will be able to grow all the fruit and veg for the stall on that, save himself a fortune on the wholesale fruit and veg price and be even better off.
