AMAZON Fire TV 4K Smart Box
Looking to get either this https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&so...6SbFQ5lWPP8mnw or this
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&so...gZnRxnRMX15EDA One thing I'd like to know is with the Amazon tv it allows for ethernet connection instead of wireless. Would amazon tv be better for something like kodi? |

I’ve got both version here and yes the box can be connect via cable and is how I have mine connected.
The other advantage using the box is the remote control with voice control that I have found handy finding programs I’ve lost sight of and a quick shout into the remote has what I’m looking for on screen in seconds without any typing or up, down, left, right navigating on the compass control. Can’t help with Kodi as I don’t use it. |

I have an app on my Panasonic Blu-Ray player for Amazon Prime and use that when I can, but it has limited functionality compared to the Fire TV box. I am searching the web for old software in the hope that I can flash it on to the box. |

Since the software update on the Fire TV it is very difficult to find anything. In particular the apps. I have found that the quickest way to launch an app or find stuff that I am in the middle of, is to just ask.

I've got a firestick which i use for Kodi amongst other things and it works great, i've just bought a Fire TV box today, if you go to very.co.uk and create a credit account, then when you get to checkout add the promo code KXU4C, it knocks £30 off, so you get a fire tv box for £35, job done.

The ethernet cable is likely to be better and more reliable than wi-fi, if you are wanting to stream Full HD or 4K videos.
But then the cheaper Fire stick doesn't support 4K anyway, and wi-fi would be fine for 720p quality streaming. |

The Fire TV 2 is faster than my LG set. I've dumped the 'smart' features on my set for the Fire TV, Chromecast and a Now TV Smart Box.

Chromecast Ultra does have an Ethernet Connection, it's integrated into the power adapter.
Google actually sell it as an optional extra for the standard Chromecast/Chromecast Audio https://store.google.com/product/eth...for_chromecast |
