I heard a whisper that Ian Holloway was being lined up to take over

Ryan Giggs was manager of Man United for about ten games after they sacked David Moyes
Caretaker manager for four meaningless end of season games.

Hell of a CV.

I might apply too, I just won the league on Football Manager.

Ryan Giggs isn't a football manager, he just filled in for one for about five minutes.

But he does have managerial experience even though it was for four games. Even Swansea were thinking of appointing him

And now look at Swansea. They have just appointed Paul Clement who did not complete a full season at Derby County and has no Premier League experience either

Yes, but Clement has worked at a high level as assistant to Ancelotti and his results record while at Derby was pretty good. Not PL, but is managing in the Championship any less tough?

I think Hull sacking Phelan is a disgrace. He's had no money to spend so not been given a proper chance. The owners seem to have lost interest since the name change they wanted was blocked.

Good luck to whoever hull bring in because they're gonna need it because they'll have to work with what they've got and that ain't much.

Weird that Moyes probably has a worse situation at Sunderland with no money to spend and over half of the first team out but he doesn't seem to get a similar level of sympathy.

In much the same way that Joey Barton's a seasoned international, yes.

Who would want the job?

If they get relegated you'll probably get the sack. If you keep them up you've got nothing to look forward to next season but unhappy fans, no money and another certain relegation battle.

A PL club appointing a manager with no managerial experience would deserve everything they got. 4 games is not experience.

Well last night the touted name was Gary Rowett but today sources are saying we will get Marco Silva. Three of the backroom staff ( Gary McDonald, Bobby Mimms and Stan Ternant ) have gone today so we will have somebody before Saturday's game

Good way to set up for an upcoming cup semi final, they must be hoping to get some positive results via the so called "new manager bounce".

used to manage my team, Bury

I think it was him that got us up to the Championship for a couple of seasons back in the mid 90s

So they turn to someone who has never managed in this county, and that not too many people have heard of, yup that will work.

Then again, who knew Pocchetino as a manager when Southampton got rid of Adkins?

If he fails it'll be for more than those reasons, managers with no prior experience of managing English clubs have won nearly all the league titles in the past 20 years and Arsene Wenger in particular wasn't a household name.

It's a leftfield move, but it's better than going for someone who 'knows the league' but has absolutely no track record to speak of.

Its only for 6 months too. Let's see. Will be a bit quiet at the KCOM on Saturday, fans are planning a protest and boycott. I reckon we will see less than 10-12,000

Arsene Wenger and Mauricio Pocchetino have done ok-ish.

As opposed to someone who has managed four end of season nothing matches in this country.

I don't know why people think England is this mythical, confusing landscape for foreigners. Plenty of managers come in and do perfectly well.
