Mind you I think Phelan going was perhaps a bit inevitable - the results under him have been so poor that avoiding relegation now looks nigh on impossible.. As someone watching it from afar the biggest question I have concerns Bruce and his departure. There must be something radically wrong for someone to get the club promoted to the PL and then for him to resign before the start of the season. The owners should have been listening to his demands and doing all they could to deliver them not just saying no as it seems they did
This appointment of Silva is almost a no risk one - if he fails it is what everyone expects and he will very likely go and then in the Championship they will get someone else. If he succeeds then they will have pulled off a master stoke for a relatively low outlay. It is hard to see him doing it without new players tho - that is why Bruce left of course as the owners would not shell out to strengthen the squad - and there is no indication funds will be made available to him. In fact transfer window wise the biggest rumour is that Snodgrass may leave - and he seems about the best player they have.
Tough times to be a Hull fan - I feel for you.
PS Is Mbekani the worst striker in the PL? - I watched him last weekend and he was useless and with him up front by himself there is not much hope of Hull scoring. Surely there must be better options?”
City came up via the play offs so were always the odds on favourite for relegation. Bruce left because of the chairman ( and his son ) not letting him run things and giving him sufficient funds. His hands were tied as were Micks. Took over a squad with only 14 fit players and left with so much uncertainty about his future. One annoying thing is we've been playing well of late. The performances against Man City, Everton and West Brom showed promise. By the way the attendance today was 6,600. Fans are fed up
As for Mbokani he is a liability you're right. Thankfully he is away at the Africa Cup of Nations for the next few weeks
