I remember one time when I was on holiday the hotel's pool always locked around 10 at night so why wasn't the one in the hotel closed?

Surely it would be against health and safety for an unattended pool to be free to enter at all hours. What if a child entered and fell in?

i hope they explore this. Perhaps Max;s next woman is the one who left it unlocked and after a while they find out.

In real life the hotel would get blamed for their deaths because they left an unattended pool open for anyone to walk in.

It's a fictional death, i.e. never really happened so what would be the point of locking the pool up, and then not having the sisters drown.

Maybe you think there should've been a close up of them trying the door before walking away, not having drowned.

Usually the pool would be locked yes so it is certainly a question that should be asked.

I do remember going to a hotel pool once where the door wasn't locked but it was after the sign said it should be closed (only just though) and it also said that lone swimming was prohibited so I was a good girl and just walked back out.

Even though I really fancied a swim.

Is it at all possible that they might have picked the lock or swiped a pass key? They were pushing boundaries, I can't imagine most jotels make it easy to get up to the roof either. In fact, wete they on the main stairs or a fire escape? Maybe they got in through a back door that shouldn't have been accessible to the guests?

Of course it is Fictional deathbut it is one that is being examined by the fictional Police with them reviewing fictional CCTV and interviewing fictional staff. Thetefore, it is reasonable to speculate about them fictionally looking into how they got into an area which should have been locked and whether the fictional hotel were negligent.

But it's suppose to reflect on real life and realistically Jack could sue the hotel because it carelessly caused two deaths by not locking a door.

Swimming pools are very dangerous if you don't know how to swim so it's one of those places that should be secured.

Except it will be the most boring element of this death and of this show and of any soap ever tbh. Police: 'Tell me why was the pool area left unlocked? Manager of pool/hotel: 'Erm we forgot to lock it' And that will be the end unless EE are going to use the death of 2 iconic stars of their show to help illustrate how to make a claim against a negligent hotel owner which I seriously doubt.

I really do not think this is going to be explored much at all. It's obviously an area we are supposed to not look into too deeply.

Some people just overthink the tiny, irrelevant minutae that doesn't actually exist though, and doesn't need to be explained. The scriptwriters wanted them to drown and that is what we got, it was realistic enough for me.

I agree we are unlikely to see in depth interviewing of the staff but they might well be a finding. All it wouldd take is one line with the Police advising that Jack that they have concluded their investigation and found the Door wasn't locked when it should have been or that the Girls gained access through a fire escape or similar so they effectively broke in and the Hotel aren't liable.

We saw them tell jim today about the Cctv, why not deal with their access?

As said, it only needs to be one line.
It could even be summarised at the Coroners Inquest if they show that. There's bound to be one.

To be fair no one forced Roxy to enter the pool area and dive in while drunk or Ronnie to dive in after her in her wedding dress.

It was realistic enough for me as well as I could believe that they'd have got in by a back way, just as they must have the roof or that the Hotel just slipped up.

But, I don't think that posters should be belittled for asking a question that anybody would if that happened in real life. Which is, hiw did they get into an area you would expect to be locked.

For all we know, it might yet become a plot point with Jack, or Glenda, considering sueing once it has all sunk in.

In real life if something like that happened the first question would be why was the pool unlocked.

Indeed and that is probably what an Inquest would conclude. That e en if it were left unlocked, they wete adults so should have known better. Especiallly if notices were on the door about swimming when no staff on duty, after certain times, when under the influence etc, which there usually are on swimming pool doors.

I'd guess it will be deemed Death by Misadventurefor both.

its certainly not a plot hole, as for all you know it will be reference, just because it hasnt in the episodes so far doesnt mean it wont be, even if it isnt i wouldnt class it as a huge plot hole

Young kids shouldn't be wandering around a hotel unsupervised. Hotel staff are not in loco parentis.

It's not real life though. It is a drama and a soap and we regularly have to suspend belief in order to enjoy it and this is just another example of that. However as some have said it may very well be referenced at some point but I really don't believe suing the hotel is going to be a big story line on EE.

In some hotels the pools are open until midnight but guests swim at their own risk.
