Do you have a coat and shoe cupboard?
I've not got a cupboard for storing outdoor wear. All shows are kept under the bed and coats on the back of the bedroom door |

Hang coats up by the door. Shoes are kicked off and left in one specific area of the living room and/or bedroom.

We have a shoe rack in the porch for most commonly worn footwear and a cloakroom for coats and jackets... although ironically hardly anyone ever uses it!

Do you keep your winter coat in a cupboard upstairs in summer so you can say "I think I'm going to have to get my winter coat out soon" when it starts to get cold? If not, why?

Coats/jackets are hung up in the hallway with shoes I wear frequently underneath (others are in the wardrobe). Quote:

There's a big cupboard in the hallway, it's wardrobe sized and it's full of crap and so all the coats are hanging on the Bannister and there is a mountain of shoes and boots cluttering the hallway. I do have regular clear outs of the cupboard and put all the shoes and coats away but tidiness doesn't last long with my family.

I've not got a cupboard for storing outdoor wear. All shows are kept under the bed and coats on the back of the bedroom door This is definitely one of them. So come on, share the thought process that actually prompted you to ask others where they hang their coats and hide their shoes. PS - the shows under the bed, what time do they stop at night? |

I have a walk-in cupboard under the main staircase that was converted into a cloakroom. A cloakroom in the more traditional sense, i.e. a room for the keeping of cloaks and not a toilet. That's where the coats and jackets live.

Fortunately I have a pretty old house so there's a purpose in-built closet right next to the front-door
The only trouble is, is that is has a couple of glass bricks in the wall giving it some light where none i s needed and these can get quite some condensation on them if it's cold outside. So if I have too many coats there's not enough air circulation and thus get mold forming, requiring a hefty scrub down every Spring |

Seems like I'm the only person to keep both coats and shoes in a wardrobe?!

It depends on what state I'm in when I come home, the living room floor is the most common place.
