It's almost a rite of passage that EE kills off its best characters

I was going to write a thread saying Heather Trott should never have been killed off but I decided instead to write a general thread about how EE always seems to kill off its best characters.

Cindy, Kathy, Heather, Ronnie & Roxy.

I'm surprised Ben Mitchell and Janine Butcher are safe.

I'm on the one hand happy Janine isn't around while SOC is swinging the axe but then again EE have had lame off screen deaths for the likes of Kathy and Ang so I wouldn't put it past him that he could kill Janine for some lame reason.

It can't be true whilst #HurricaneMinty is still out there alive and kicking somewhere?

Killing Heather wasn't too big a deal for me but the fact they made it Ben really irked me, same with having him knock up Lola, he fell into every gay soap stereotype, psycho, distant father, and tried being straight and ends up with a baby.

The worst ones to kill off were

Den and Angie (twice in Den's case)
Pat
Cindy
Kathy (thankfully rectified)
Mark
Michelle (she's dead to me)

I wasn't fussed about the rest as the actors either wanted to be killed off, died in real life or the character didn't mean much to me.

I am concerned about your definition of best characters

Heather, Roxy and Ben are its best characters?

No. Just no.

Whilst I don't consider Heather one of the EE elite, she was harmless enough and it was good to have a genuinely nice person on the Square. She would have been pals with Honey I reckon. And I would like to have seen her reaction to all the Carter shenanigans over the past few years. Especially the revelation that Mummy was a baby trafficker.

Heather?! Really?! She was only there to be the butt of Shirley's jokes and that was painful to watch. Heather was a ridiculous character with her 'special cuddles'. How old was she when she had sex with Darren in the club toilets? Way too old to be calling it 'special cuddles'.
