The Queen will never die until the white Fiat Uno that acts as her phylactery is destroyed.

There'll be no such law, just speculation that the funeral would probably happen 12 days after the death, so the BBC would be unlikely to go back to normal programming in the interim. Can't see them pulling everything though, there are limits to how much you can stretch "Queen still dead".
While nowhere near as major as the Queen, it's interesting the programming on the evening of Diana's funeral. It seems the BBC felt we needed cheering up. 18:30 The Wrong Trousers Nick Park's Oscar-winning animated feature about a humble inventor who tackles a villainous penguin, with the help of his crafty dog 19:00 Film: Free Willy A young boy races against time to free a captive killer whale from a marine park. Sentimental family drama starring Jason James Richter and Lori Petty. (1993) 20:45 Only Fools and Horses More wheeler-dealing comedy with dodgy Del and the Trotter clan 21:00 Nine O'Clock News Subtitled With Martin Lewis Followed Regional News and Weather 21:35 News Followed by Newsline and Weather 22:00 Farewell to the People A look back over the day's events 23:00 Pat and Margaret A US soap star is reunited with her long-lost sister while on a trip to Britain. Comedy drama with Julie Walters and Victoria Wood |

I can't see how they can possibly pull everything for 12 days when she dies. There's not enough worth showing in that time to justify it. There'll be various 'specials' which will basically all say the same thing, and as someone else said, there's only so much you can say about the Queen dying without basically interviewing everyone in the country about how sad they are (or people like me, who'd be more likely to laugh if someone asked me if I was sad about it, how it affected me etc).
With everyone having access to news channels there's not even a reason for wall to wall coverage on ANY channel. Just stick a banner on for a couple of hours saying to switch to a news channel and let every single channel carry on as normal (same goes for radio, let them play whatever music they want, when they want, carry on showing comedies etc rather than basically forcing every radio/tv channel to only play miserable music, nothing funny allowed etc. Not everyone will give a flying monkeys snot about her dying and not everyone who does care will want to be almost encouraged to be miserable by wall to wall coverage and miserable music etc. After an hour or so everything just becomes a repeat anyway of people saying how sad they are blah blah blah. I just hope if she dies that she does it after the football season has finished as there's no risk then of all football being stopped and every game having a minutes silence before it just because of her dying. Then again if I was at a game I'd probably just browse the internet during the minutes silence, so it's all good. |

It's irrelevant, BBC is legally obligated to pull everything for 12 days after.

Even any embargo would be voluntary You might find the broadcasters have a representative on the palace panel for her death preparations and there might have been some kind of agreed stance for programming there but it would just really copy what they did for Diana & QM. |

What if the Queen's death was announced during a F1 race or support races exclusively live on Sky Sports F1, would the channel have to leave coverage given that other countries take Sky UK's broadcast or for that reason be allowed to continue till after the podium then move away as most other countries just take our commentary and race feed not pre/post race.
Won't be a problem if occurred during practice or qualifying as the points are awarded for race. |

Then all football teams would do the minutes silence in the new season
Anyone who actually believes the BBC wouldn't pull their schedule to show Parliament swearing allegiance to Charlie boy etc. is living in la-la land. 'No we're not showing these never seen before historic events. Here is a rerun of Escape to the Country instead' |

![]() The trouble with commercial radio is so many stations leave/join or jocks come and go as freelancers that it'd be a miracle if that goes off without a hitch. |

I think going on past major Royal deaths they just put a strap/aston on screen for all Sky Channels saying to turn to Sky One/Sky News for a major news announcement. Sky 1 takes Sky News coverage. QVC went off air

The issue with putting a strap up would be that world feed isn't produced by Sky and sky are only allowed to use own straps when audio cuts away to someone other than commentary team or Ted Kravitz in pit lane or are showing a replay from own angle. |
