This IS IVF isn't it, as natural conception is surely very, very rare in menopausal women.

''Had some work done''? Of course she has. She's a Jackson.

Yes, it would seem that IVF is most likely, although I have read numerous gossip sites that seem to be inferring that a surrogate and a fake bump may have been involved.

She does look bloody amazing, but "some" work?

Not at all.

It's surprisingly common, particularly as women assume their fertility has declined and don't take precautions so the chance of pregnancy is still very much there despite the decline in egg production.

It's pretty rare. My wife was 47, her consultant said she was the second oldest natural conception he'd ever seen.

Yes, a friend of mine had her 3rd child at the age of 47, when her youngest was 22. She assumed she was going through the menopause and was gobsmacked (understatement of the year) when she found out she was 18 weeks pregnant

Congratulations to JJ on the birth of her baby.

There were 154 over 50's who gave birth in 2012, that includes all births, not just natural ones. So it's pretty damn rare.

My great-grandmother was born in 1875. She had her 15th and final baby in 1924 - a month after her 49th birthday.

My grandfather was the eldest of the 15. He was 28 when his youngest brother came into the world.

Apart from the fact that it's the Daily Mail and it's saying that birth rates in the over 50's are actually increasing then, yeah, sure.

Isn't she the one who doesn't like the skin colour of one of her kids because the father isn't white?

Triplets at 50 eh? Rather her than me.

1st child, in the old days(no tv) women did have children into their 50s, but not a first child.

My mum was 43 when she gave birth to my sister, and I was 10.

We say that they were so puritanically minded that they only ever had sex twice - once for my conception and once for hers.

I don't think she has had a surrogate, in the non airbrushed pap pictures she has put on a lot of weight. She's either genuinely had a baby or else piled on the pounds.

Janet has piled on the pounds before and lost and piled on and lost etc etc etc.

She was the same size a few years back, and being body shamed by the tabs.

The fake bump trolls are hilarious.

There`s no shame in using a surrogate these days so why would she lie?

Was it ever shown to be true that she had a daughter when younger and gave her to an older sister to raise?

I didn't say they weren't increasing, just that it is pretty rare. If you take out the IVF births then there are hardly any natural conceptions in over 50's.

As for doubting the Daily Mail, the figures come from a parliamentary question.
