it seems to be a bit of a thing these days in the show when they get to a dramatic point and then cut or just don't show it at all

Don't see the point of this at all

I would imagine it's to avoid complaints to Ofcom about showing scenes of violence before the watershed or whatever.

Eastenders has always been gritty and semi violent

I'm glad we didn't see the scenes because it was left ambiguous and I prefer it that way.

I don't.
I was looking forward to seeing Oz get a smack.

I'm just going to assume the attack was too violent to show before the watershed. No aimlesslessly swinging baseball bats around for Mick..😊

Obviously SOC needs to go and Eastenders can back to it's old self

Maybe it was more of a BBC decision rather than just SOC, just a thought.

Still the whole feels different under SOC not very Eastenders

Sock is a bore and ordinarily I'd agree with the cutting away being crap but in this case I was actually happy. This whole Lee / Oz story is terrible and pure fastforward material so I applaud EE for doing that for me.

EastEnders literally just killed off two of its biggest characters in one go. How on earth is that lightweight, cosy drama?

Because the next day was all about carrots, Ian's hairline and pub breakfasts.

There was nothing 'cosy' or 'light' about the Vic raid last month. That was pretty violent and gritty.

Re Mick's attack on Os, I guess we'll have to see how it plays out, but it may have been done for story reasons.

That doesn't make up for months of endless boring stuff..... Nothings happened for months since that.....

Since September we've had:

Ben's kidnapping
The Mark/Grant reveal
The Cokers' exit
Lee's depression/debt/workplace bullying
Dot's health problems
Denise's pregnancy
The exits of multiple characters including Masood, Belinda, Kyle
The Queen Vic burglary
Phil at death's door
Roxy's drug habit
Max Branning's return
Phil's liver transplant
Lee's confession
Mitchell sisters dying on Ronnie's wedding day.

It's not exactly been devoid of drama.

It feels more like EE under Soc than the last 3 eps combined to me

Absolutely. When people say SOC's era "doesn't feel like EastEnders" I wonder if they've been watching an entirely different show to me all these years. The only time EE never 'felt like' EE to me was when Kirkwood was busy running it into the ground. Even at times under DTC it was like watching Dynasty - OTT and camp as Christmas.

SOC's approach is much more like 80s/90s EastEnders.

I was surprised we didn't see Mick at least preparing to go into action with Oz. Very lame.
