Les and Pam - Absolutley not. They had plenty of life in them and were amoung my favorites. They proved themselves when given storylines and were the best in the community scenes and felt like a real part of Walford. Their exit was beautiful but was wasn't the time.
Belinda - No. great character who was starting to get involved and justs ups and leaves in a bizzare exit. She should have stayed for longer. Kyle - absolutley not. He was underused and had alot of potential. I would have liked to seen him get love interest and explore the struggle they get finding their someone. I thibk he needed another year but with storylines rather than completly neglected like he had been since he moved to the square. Claudette - This one is a bit tricky. Yes in the sense no one liked her in Walford and her awful backstory that she murdered Henry and sent Fatboy to die she had to go. But at the same time, no. She was suppposed to help the arrival of various characters she fostered over the years and tbh I would have liked to have seen this. We have seen 4 although 1 was a cameo character but I'd have liked to have gotten to meet them and see their bond over a few years. Babe - Yes. As much as I love Babe, I can't see her realistically staying in Walford as another of her evii schemes is revealed. She needs a break away from the square for a while. Ronnie - Yes and she had to die. However her exit story was stupid. She should have foubd out about Fatboy and had her murderous past catch up as revenge got taken. Not drowning in some random accident. Roxy: No. tbh I'd love to see Roxy cope with Ronnie's death. Also with Ronnie dead she can break free and grow into her own character. Ronnie always controlled her and brought her down. Also she is the neglected Mitchell sisted. Lee: No. The robbery story is stupid and Lee having a part doesnt sit right with me. Also Lee has proven himself as a character these last few weeks especially in the suicide attempt episode. Plus with Linda away already, it's really not the time. So thags just Babe and Ronnie I fully agree with. He should have axed Billy, Sharon or Phil, Kim, Dot, Mick and Whitney Belinda- No, could have been a fantastic character. Kyle- Boring character played by a very weak Actor but brought in as a token character with zero development. Claudette- The Hubbards have flopped and I am surprised Vincent is still there to be honest, making her a killer ruined her character. Babe- Ultimately a nasty piece of work and not surprised now that she is being axed, she seems to have no redeeming qualities. Ronnie - It was time to go and death was the only way Roxy- same as Ronnie Lee- Danny-Boy Hatchard has shone in this storyline, one of my early axe favourites but now thinking it should be Johnny who should be leaving not Lee. Characters that should have been axed instead - Tina, Sylvie, Shakil and Johnny. |

Although I love Ronnie I totally get why he axed the sisters and I think he gave them a good memorable exit.
The exits I have major issues with are characters that in my opinion had loads of potential and hadn't been on the show for long in soap terms and that's Les, Pam and Lee. I do, however, think Sean clearly has his vision for the show and it's clearly a lot better planned and more long term than anything DTC attempted, certainly characterisation has improved ten fold imo. Thanks

There was a run of men leaving...Andy, Gavin, Buster, Tam, Masood, Kyle and Les. I don't know who got shot of them though.
DTC did like his older ladies and did bring a lot in...Claudette, Babe, Sylvie, Carmel, Pam and Kathy. Then the guests..Peggy, Margaret and Sal. I hope we keep Derek as a friend for Patrick. The Tam and Mas actors quit on their own terms. I honestly don't know if Gavin was temporary or DTC decided to write him out given what a complete flop he was (along with unnecessary retcons of Den Watts and Eric Mitchells' backstories). I'm not sure if Buster was axed by DTC or SOC. He left when SOC oversaw DTC's last storylines before his kicked in. Kyle and Les were SOC's decisions. |

I think he's going to regret axing Ronnie, Roxy and Lee and even Kyle could've been expanded a little more.
Other than that and in spite of losing characters I've enjoyed (Ronnie, Roxy, Les and Pam), most of the axings have been okay. We need a few more newer characters though. |

Definitely! At least one fresh family with no ties to the Square too.
I do think we will see Vicki and Mark Jnr returning soon. |

Agreed, why have they not done that?
I do think we will see Vicki and Mark Jnr returning soon. Vicki and Mark Jr coming back seems a safe bet too. |

It is overdue by now. Have a mum, dad, three kids - maybe two adults and one teenager, a nice dog too.

The only ones I don't agree with is Babe and Lee.
Babe is very cartoonish thanks to DTC, but with good writing she could become a complex matriach of the Carters. Lee and Whitney are great. Much better (more likeable and played by better actors) than Johnny and Nancy, too. |

I don't expect Lee to be killed off and the original announcement said it was a break, so all three could potentially return at some point.
Ditto Lee depending on his exit. Don't think he'll be killed off but if Mick disowns him (e.g. he betrays the family again) may be a longer wait. I think Mick, Linda and Shirley will be around for the long run anyway. |

Vicki and Mark Jr coming back seems a safe bet too. Not convinced about Vicki and Mark, at least not in the short term, it rather depends how they've reacted to Michelle's secret (they may not be talking to her). http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2196915 |

New characters are promised, a family seems logical, so let's hope so.

Buster - Not very good character axed for better characters
Pam and Les - Their story reached a natural end Ronnie and Roxy - Storys reached natural end. Exit could be done better. Claudette - Underused Babe - Needed to leave Kyle - Not very good character Belinda - Underused Masood - Turned into boring background character after Shabnam and Tamwar left Lee - Good exit storylines but otherwise bad |

I personally think what Babe did selling babies was worst than Ronnie's crimes in killing Carl White and trying to kill Vincent so that should men a Babe death too but I doubt they will kill too many characters off in a short space of time.
Also, Sam and Rita were always splashed on the cover of TV mags because they sold copies because they were marketable popular characters. Having Sonia on the cover wont be enough |

Derek and Patrick would make a dreadful couple. Patrick has always been straight. The audience will never buy that story - EE has been far fetched but that's jumping the whale that's jumping the shark.

Absolutely yes, and axing Ronnie and Roxy is his best decision so far. I haven't disagreed with a single one of his axings so far.

I wish that one day a producer has the balls to axe Phil. He has been on show for so many years and has had all of the possible storylines thrown at him. For me, he doesn't bring anything to the show. He's boring.

Judging by the fact that a lot of the posts forgot/didn't mention some of the characters suggest he hasn't done too badly. And with his latest two exits, the ratings have hit a year high.
