Eastenders "Roxy killed Ronnie"
What was that bizarre outburst from Jack all about? I don't understand why he has the need to accuse Roxy of murdering Ronnie?
I really can't stand him. |

I think, considering the story that's played out over the last few months, Jack's outburst was understandable to me. I thought it would happen, and it felt right that it did. He's had a problem with Roxy for months, and he considered her a bad influence on Ronnie, so the fact that, from what he's been told, and remember all the F.L.O told him was that Ronnie jumped in after her, and that's all he said, I think Jack's reaction was perfectly understandable.
Once he sees the CCTV footage (hopefully, he will), he should be able to see that Ronnie was smiling and happy and wanted to go into the pool too, and was adjusting her dress so she could do so. I don't think it was bizarre at all, considering his behaviour towards her recently. |

Said this happened a few days ago meshes sense with how shallow the pool was

OK, Roxy's no angel (well she might be now
) but her recent downward spiral must be in part attributed to Jack's attitude towards her. He's been beyond vile to her, kept setting her up to fail and chipped away at her confidence till she had nothing left. And now, having ignored all his children for years, he ends up with all three of them (mainly to please Ronnie - he never bothered about any of them before). Social Services really need to be involved to sort out that mess, but this is EastEnders, so he'll probably end up keeping all three and receiving Father of the Year award. I'd love it if Sean came back to claim Amy and Charlie, Matthew. But Sam can stay away

It was irrational of Jack, but I feel a realistic reaction from him. He is looking for someone to blame and as far as he is concerned Roxy was a huge thorn in his relationship with Ronnie. He even made a quip about it being a case of buy one get one free with Ronnie and Roxy. He is in a bad place right now and as Roxy was the source of a lot of conflict he has latched onto the fact Ronnie went to save her as the finger of blame.

It made total sense. Aside from grief being the main reason for such an outburst, it played into the fact that Jack believed Ronnie was always repeatedly dragged down by Roxy and her crap and that this was the final and typical example of Roxy being responsible for it all once again.

It made absolute sense that Jack would think this. In his mind Roxy f*cked up again, got herself into trouble and Ronnie died trying to save her. I'm really surprised people don't get this actually.

And besides, who cares?
Where's this going? At most Jack's going to be seen frowning for a few episodes. If they wanted to make an ongoing storyline out of this then kill Ronnie but have Roxy saved last minute by being resuscitated by hotel staff. Then the whole 'you killed my wife and I won't rest until you go down' would make sense. Roxy could have left by fleeing or by Jack getting mad and killing her or something a bit more interesting than: 'random death + pointless conspiracy' As it is, it's utterly pointless. The more I think about this storyline and how R&R could have died (drug dealer involvement, Ronnie's past coming back to haunt her) and/or all the follow-up repercussions there could have been, the more it seems like an utter waste and very lazily thought out. |

I can see why you say that Desert. It's very common to have to look for blame. I suppose it's a means to vent anger.

He knows that Roxy would never murder her Sister, I understand that he's angry but I really don't like the guy. I prefer his brother, and he's a git

As others have said, I thought it was in keeping with Jack's views of Roxy in the last few months.
He would look to blame somebody and she would be the ideal scapegoat for him. |
