DVD Recording problems
Hope some of you technical wizzkids can help me out. My problems is that I bought a pack of 25 -RW DVDs but have found that after a certain number of recordings they tend to have disc protection turned on which means I can no longer record new programmes and are available for playback only. This is despite the fact that my User manual says that only RAM type discs can be protected in this way. I can't finalise or reformat the discs either. Is my only option to throw them away and buy new ones? If so, which brands & formats of DVD do you recommend I buy?

Do you have a PC you could reformat them with?

how are you recording in the first place?? are you using a dvd recorder?
if so you might have recording protection switched on in the settings somewhere |

The disc might be -RW but if you've set the recorder to work in 'write once' mode then it'll stop you being able to add extra recordings to a disc.
Have a look whether your recorder is Video Mode (which is write once) or VR mode which is the one that allows additional recordings on to a disc. |
