When I've replayed phone videos of Xmas with my family I hate it!

No, I really do not, I did a interview a while back, and afterwards they played the whole thing back.

They really thought it was fine, I was thinking Kermit has a heavy cold.

I hate mine (I've been told I sound like Pam Ayres - google her for the full horror if you don't know who she is. Brilliantly talented, but I don't want her voice!). Having said that, I've also been told that I look like Kate Bush, but have seen enough family videos to know that other people's views can't always be trusted!

My husband got a dashcam a few months back, and after realising it picked up our voices along with everything else I was always careful not to say much for five minutes or so after getting into the car, by which time I'd forget it was there. I've pretty much forgotten it entirely now, so I hope we'll never need the footage for more reasons than one!

Absolutely not.

When I did my dissertation as Uni, I carried out a series of oral history interviews which I recorded and then typed up afterwards.

I didn't mind listening to my interviewees at all. I just hated listening to the bits where I was asking the questions.

I was cringing at every single one and because I am such a slow typist, I had to keep replaying it and listening to it over and over again so I could transcribe it word for word.

It's not that there's anything odd about my voice. It just makes me feel very self conscious.

I'm always rather pleased when I hear my own voice recorded. It doesn't happen often, but I have round sonorous tones. Pretty damned good.

No I don't like the sound of my voice but yet when I send voice notes I always replay them after I've sent them.

I don't really care how I sound, but I am always surprised I have such a definite accent as I normally think it's quite mild until I listen to a recording.

I don't; though I do wonder is that how other people hear us all normally (and only we hear ourselves differently) or does everyone simply sound different when recorded?

It's hard to get a correct interpretation of your voice recorded. Try recording yourself on different devices, different mobiles, different laptops a digital camera. You will sound better on some than on others, you will sound different.

Like most things, the more expensive something is the more likely it is is to have a better quality microphone inside, and speakers that portray sound more accurately.

No, i'm 32 and sound about 6!

I've had to ring a pharmacy before and book an appointment, I spoke to a lady who then took the phone away from her mouth and said to her colleague "You talk to them, it's just some kid messing about".
I hate speaking to anyone on the phone now.

No, I hate it. I sound so posh, it reminds me why kids used to taunt me (well, adults have taunted me about my voice too!).

I always felt sorry for a girl who came to my sixth form. Her family were in the armed forces and her accent was extremely posh, really what you could truly describe as a plumb in her mouth. I don't think I have ever heard anything like it since.

She hated her voice and tried her best to sound common, but she could never manage it.

You realize a lot of guys like posh female voices well most posh sounding voices anyway! My advice for a lady if you sound posh don't fret about it.

Not particularly, but other people may not hear your voice as you do.

Another reason that one's voice may not sound particularly good is due to the limitations of the recording device.

In a way that's my story - I had northern parents but a lot of my formative years were spent abroad being taught English by non-English people with no English accent, so it's an accent-free voice (although I do have a bit of American twang in there). Even 25 years in Woking didn't lead to me changing (even though half of Woking seem to be auditioning to be in Eastenders ).

My Mum used to call me her posh child

How accents change over the decades. I remember Willie Rushton on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue defining a crèche as 'a car accident in Woking'.
