What is your favourite EastEnders episode of the decade, so far?
So basically anything from January 1st 2010.
![]() My top 5 would be: 5. EastEnders LIVE: 25th anniversary I absolutely loved this episode. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Looking back on the Who killed Archie storyline, it was actually quite naff. At the time however, I thought it was brilliant and I liked how the whodunnit didn't drag on for ages. A fantastic episode with an excellent mix of characters. Lacey Turner and Charlie Celements were sensational!4. Ronnie and Jack's second wedding The most recent. This was epic. The best camera work I have ever seen on a soap and although it was a mistake to kill both of the sisters off, it was a fantastic exit and the episode was so engaging. It was beautifully written. Dramatic, fun and heartbreaking. 3. Stacey's exit Probably an unpopular opinion. Stacey was my favourite character in the 2007-2010 period. I was gutted to see her go, but I thought her exit was sensational! Janine stabbing herself was so shocking. Again, a great mix of characters and the episode had a nice Christmas feel to it, with the locals in The Vic. 2. EastEnders LIVE week This was without a doubt the most excited I have ever been about a soap. Who killed Lucy was long, but it paid off massively for the show. The build up to the 30th anniversary was incredible and the storylines surrounding the week were Classic EastEnders. The cast was absolutely spot on and my jaw hit the ground when Kathy Beale returned. There were no explosions or car pile ups. It was just a week of pure drama and the popularity surrounding it was incredible. It sent social media in to overdrive and the ratings were more than rewarding. An amazing week of soap, which I struggle to see being topped in the foreseeable future. 1. Ronnie and Charlie's wedding My favourite episode of the decade so far. The reason for this is because it was just Classic EastEnders. Nick Cotton's scheming, the who killed Lucy storyline going on in the background with Emma determined to find the killer and the Mitchell wedding all complimented eachover nicely, and I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It was like watching an episode from the golden age of the early 00's. Everyone played their part well and this really got the momentum going for the 30th anniversary two months later. Although Emma had not been on screen for long, her death was both shocking and upsetting, whilst Ronnie dying then comin back to life, was a genuine 'OMG' moment. An outstanding episode in my opinion, and marginally better than the 30th. |

But my favourite decade is the Nineties as it had so many great storylines and very few episodes that were bad |

All mentioned by the EP I agree 100%.
My favourite ones without an 'event' as such like a wedding/anniversary/christmas/ny: - The Kat & Whitney almost 2 hander in 2013 Both characters were at extremely critical points in their journey and without the emotional healing that needed to occur in that evening, Whitney would not be where she is today (feeling completely free from Tony) and Kat would've still been hurting from Uncle Harry and tarting herself up every night - David's return, anytime David and Carol are together on screen is like a lesson in acting, they're just phenomenal actors but especially the episode when David returned in 2013 (ironically they were the 2 highlights and best things LN did though I disliked most parts of her tenure!) - Sharon & Ian 2-hander (can't remember exact date, think March 2015?) Two iconic and long-standing EE characters coming together to hash out the possibility they could actually be related, Sharon's lack of parenting skills clashing with Ian's grief over Lucy, was just beautiful to watch - Stacey and Max two-hander Soooo much anticipation, the first time we're seeing Stacey 6 weeks after her admitting to killing Archie, aftermath of bradley's death for max and also stacey, so much tension and everything was just smashed out of the park acting wise. There's probably more but can't think of just one! When EE is good, it's sensational. Sensational not because of special effects or a random crisis, but well executed character development leading to heightened drama. |

My Top 5 would be:
1. REXIT Although I don't think R&R should've been killed off, that episode was perfectly written, directed and paced. The best exit I've seen on a soap in my opinion. 2. Eastenders 30 Live Reveal Brilliantly acted and Cindy reading the note from Lucy to Ian at the end was heartbreaking. 3. Shirley discovers Ben killed Heather One of BK's better moments. Shirley was written well within character and the way it was unravelled was believable yet dramatic. 4. Kat visits the convent An episode that easily stands out. Really character-driven which is always welcome. 5. New Year's Day Crash 2015 The car stunt was so good! Ronnie just about surviving was a shocking moment. Rita was especially great in it. |

Kats convent visit/ her and Whitneys episode.
Shabnams still birth. I liked whatever episode it was when Shirley and Carol had a heart to heart about carols cancer. I enjoyed the episode after good Friday when Ian found out about Lucy and had to tell everyone else. I loved Charlie Slaters death episode, Kat was great and it tied in the abuse but also included Stacey's mental health troubles too. |
