I was surprised to see him back on the papers review. Surely Sky could have found someone else instead of the self-entitled mouthpiece with a huge chip on his shoulder.
I bet he's not going to do the papers review with Hartley-Brewer again just in case he has another hissy fit.

Well the producers of the programme must have contacted him in order to invite him onto the show.
Fail to see how this is his fault.

Does anyone want to be on a programme with a dog-faced condescending termagant like Hartley-Brewer?

Does it to get his point across I guess. I don't particularly like having to buy loo roll when one considers what it's used for, but it's a necessary evil!

Sky News is doing its best to emulate the BBC the last 2 years. Owen Jones is part of that strategy. I would say he is one of the most important faces Sky have. He is Sky's equivalent to to the BBC's Zoe Williams (also a Guardian writer) who is also very outspoken. Legitimises them in the eyes of the liberal left - and therefore makes them a UK media heavyweight. Channel 4 must be very envious although conversely Jon Snow must make the BBC and Sky jealous to an extent..

I'm quite glad he's back on Sky News.

Why? Because I don't watch it. The more he's on there the less likely I'll be subjected to him on other televisual platforms so I'm hoping they give him loads of work.

I'm not his biggest fan but it is good to have a press preview with opposing views every now and then.

Works for both parties.
Jones gets his point across and Sky get angry wee guys starting threads about their press review on social media.

Depends on the quality of views.
I prefer a discussion based on political views to come from an informed place rather than an emotional one.
As Owen collapsed into an emotional heap last time because he couldn't handle views which didn't accord with his own it's hard for me to find him to be credible or competent enough for this type of thing.

I think he's better suited for an environment where he can rant to his heart's content without the inconvenience of other people getting in the way and having their say too.
That way he isn't forced to think about or reassess a position of thought which he currently holds.

Me thinks you read too much Daily Mail. Mark Longhurst did not lose his job over this but because of cost cutting at Sky News. So by your logic who got the other presenters fired that were let go by Sky News?

Good to have him back, at the very least the right echo chamber of middle Britain now ceases, it was like bad acid reflux.

From this sort of comment (which I've heard a lot), anyone would think he makes a habit of getting upset on TV programmes and walking out. It happened just once, so I think we should cut him some slack. Usually he seems perfectly able to debate with other people.

From what i've seen, most of the guests for Press Preview are journalists and would have access to most of the same information, whether they print it or not.
Also i'd rather see a more balanced debate than 2 people from the same side agreeing for half an hour who could both be wrong.

I always thought Longhurst interrupted the reviewers too much and virtually took over the review. Plus Julia HB was being a right pain in the arris as usual.
