I know a lot of you don't like my reactionary threads on these things, but come on Evan at least have some professional credibility and have a shave when you're on live tv.
Ladies, can, change hairstyle, change hair colour, wear hair up, or down, - no issues. Men, can stop shaving for charity in November, - no issue. Gary Lineker has a half grown goatee presenting MOTD could look partly unshaven, doesn't effect his skills. I assume, if he doesn't shave, it has some effect on his ability to interview, or read the news? Some men have a health reason why they can't shave for a time, I did over Christmas with a reaction. Do you want Newsreaders to go back to wearing a dinner jacket? As said, your entitled to your opinion- however much the rest of us do not agree with you. But really, this is not worthy of a thread. Why not have A Mr Pitkins observations on BBC News thread, and post all these comments on that, to tidy up the forum a bit. Then everyone who wants to follow it can. What would you expect the BBC to do? Sack him? Give him a warning? Seems some broadcasters employ people who have physically attacked a producer as they didn't get hot food, Following numerous other warnings. Assume as that's Amazon, that's OK. |

That would be more a killer retort if it were actually true! It's been a long time since a suit and tie were de rigueur for TV presenters across the board. Those that adopt it do so through personal preference these days.
I am fed up to the back teeth with having to look at men's scrawny necks because they don't wear a tie. |

What is doubly shocking is that Evan showed up on Newsnight unshaven on the chinny chin chin but had allegedly had a back sack and crack waxing at an exclusive male beauty studio paid for on the BBC licence payer and yet we never got to see the results of that on screen.

I had to go to IPlayer to see all the fuss, ( or fuzz) is about.
1/ I had to zoom in to even notice it. 2/ Pre Newsnight titles running, there were three men on, two on the screen in the studio, live, on on the film, various levels of facial hair, the guy on the film, a big massive beard. Of all Evan on the face looked the smartest, but - OMG- didn't wear a tie, an open neck shirt. None of this had any effect whatsoever on his ability to present, interview and was not a distraction, in fact he seemed to be in synchronisation with the make guests! Next we will have a thread on Kirsty Wark, having her hair up or down, or in a bun, really this is beyond the pale now. Funny, Jeremy Paxman left Newsnight, grew a beard and presented Channel 4 current affairs, but it seems it's not worthy of a thread as it's 4. |

I thought she could get a cream for that. ************* Hacker the dog was on Celebrity Mastermind over Christmas, and he had a heck of a lot of facial hair. |

Do women not have scrawny necks then? Do no men have non-scrawny necks?

He hasn't got a beard though, that's my point.
If he goes on to grow a proper beard, then fair enough, but I feel he's just not bothered to shave since the Xmas break. It's really not acceptable for someone presenting live tv on the BBC. |

Why are turkeys presenting Newsnight? Now I'm really confused!
The mere presence of Paxo would be enough to give the turkeys the willies (which was normally Bernard Matthew's job)...allegedly ![]() I must admit I never leave the house without shaving my Evan Davis and I do so with some regularity. It's the done thing and considered the height of fashion round our neck of the woods. |

You should consider yourself lucky. If people could get away with calling you various rude names without being banned you'd have had it worse. Fact of the matter is that basically you're better off leaving for a lot longer than a while if you're going to post nonsensical brainless claptrap like you did. Maybe, oh I don't know, 50 years? Or maybe more than that would be fair. Either way, good riddance to bad rubbish.
