In our location young ladies often go to the shop early in the morning with their pj's & dressing gowns on
& return a few minutes later with 20 fags 4 cans of beer & a scratch card

I don't think it is unless the insults are directed at a forum member. In other words, making general comments and giving an opinion of others (non posters) is not against forum rules as far as I am aware.

However, not treating fellow posters respectfully is against the rules (4.2) and, if my memory serves me right, you were banned for breaking certain rules.

The only time I went out with my pyjamas on was when I had to go to an all-night pharmacy in the early hours. I put my clothes over my pyjamas for speed and also for warmth as it was below freezing outside. I drove there as well.

One thing worse than shopping in your PJs is spying on people who shop in their PJs

One thing worse than shopping in your PJs is if the person in the shop serving you is in their PJs.

I will admit to having worn pyjamas bottoms to the local co-op, when I was heavily pregnant. I did feel embarrassed about it, but nothing else fitted me comfortably and I could barely walk as it is, let alone trying to walk in uncomfortable clothes.

You hardly have to spy.

As it's not covert, like.

All extreme circumstances, especially with embarrassment, should be forgiven.

I don't ask jammy-joe/jim-jam (or whichever cutesy name is applied to slept-in clothing to pretty it up) wearing creeps anything . Unless they've escaped from a hospital and look in need of assistance I've no intention of having a conversation with them either.
I don't have ANY respect for that family , never mind "a lot of" .
Yes I most certainly am judging them . At 10.30 am on Christmas morning visiting a cemetery in the clothes you've very probably slept in is grim .The kids in their pyjamas I can overlook , but the two adults need to give their heads a wobble and get dressed .

This thread is funny but rightly or wrongly I will judge people out and about in nightwear. I might like the people, they may be fantastically kind people but I will still wonder why in hell they didn't bother putting clothes on and think they are either slobby or very absent minded.

I go out in leggings and t-shirt but would never go out in actual pyjamas or a dressing gown. Never slippers. Absolutely no way in all three. I don't own a onesie, they're hideous.

So if they don't care what other people think, why is it such an issue if people are judging them? If they honestly don't care, it won't bother them if people think they're lazy. If it does in fact bother them, maybe they should make the small effort of putting clothes on to go shopping.

And anyway, I think we're taking the word judgment a bit seriously. It just means we make little assumptions in our heads or give a sideways glance, it's not as if someone is calling the fashion police and having them arrested or paraded down the street while people point and throw rotten fruit at them. It's all a bit precious.

I've seen it a couple of times since moving to the North. The first time when I saw a woman walking round the supermarket in her PJ's, dressing gown and slippers I was a bit taken aback. I heard people did it but had never seen it. After the initial "Oh she's in dressing gown" to myself I then didn't really give it much thought.

It's not something I would do but then I don't wear or own PJ's so a bit of a non starter. Even if I did, it wouldn't feel right.

Just had to nip out to the car as I had dropped the loaf of bread out of the bag of shopping and needed it to make my morning toast but was still in my jim-jams. Nope, had to go throw my tracksuit on first (thinking of going for a run at lunchtime anyway so would be a waste to shower and dress properly now).

Yeah, course you do.

Bit creepy of you to sit watching women all day, isn't it? Wonder if they'll get a restraining order on you!

I'd reign it in a bit, mate, or the mods will put a restraining order on you.

Is there something wrong with you that you feel the need to hurl abuse at other forum members?

If someone just can't be bothered to get out of their pyjamas before going shopping then they're lazy IMO. That does not make me vile and hateful.

If someone smells and/or is dirty and I comment on it, that is me making an observation, not me being vile and hateful.

Quite a lot is subjective and quite a lot is about values and standards which are different for different people.

As for the subject of this post, yes, I do think people who just can't be bothered to change out of nightwear when they go shopping are lazy and slobby. That's my opinion. It doesn't mean they're bad people, it means I think they're lazy and slobby.”

It may not be because some people are lazy and slobby that they walk around in night clothes, or don't wash as often as you think they should.

People who do this may well have once had very high standard,s but are now suffering with depression or mentally ill.

I see people walking around with odd shoes or slippers quite often while out shopping. They may have a foot problem.

It might not necessarily be because they simply cant be bothered.

I agree. I'm a mother, I've been so exhausted that j can barely lift my head off the pillow but I've never been too knackered to put my clothes on before leaving the house.

Mind you I live in Tunbridge Wells so that sort of thing is probably illegal here anyway 😄

I do see quite a lot of girls out shopping with rollers in though which I'm not a fan of but I do get that more than the pjs thing

It used to be a regular occurrence to see some travellers sitting in the local shopping centre having a meal wearing dressing gowns and with highlight foils in their hair.

I haven't seen anyone else shopping in their pj,s though.
