Missing Christmas cards?
Ok so you send and receive cards to regulars each year but this time I was missing 5 of all those I usually receive which is odd because nobody has died and I haven't fallen out with anyone so I'm wondering if anybody else was short of any this year as it's never happened before?

Here is a radical thought, why don't you ask them? You have their address (they may have moved?) surely you have other means of contact, too? Phone up or something and ask how their Christmas was.

You shoud see it as a positive thing though. I hate cards, i don't even like receiving Birthday cards. I find them to be a hassle. I don't want some stupid card hanging up on my mantelpiece. I would rather just have the money they paid for the card

p.s. those slim Xmas cards only a bit wider than bookmarks can jam in the post office machines and get shredded |

A whole bunch of cards have failed to arrive, it seems that family posting cards around the West Mids & Worcestershire in the first week of December have vanished
I'm still expecting them, one card last year suddenly appeared in early February with a December Postmark Of course, dealing with UK & German Post systems is going to cause delays, but I'm guessing it's on the UK side

I sent five to New York City, got four back before Christmas, and one on January 3. |

I find that more and more often people say they are stopping sending cards and that they are making a donation to charity instead.
I have no issue with that at all. I tend to still send cards from us, as there are a lot of people whom we do not see on a regular basis for various reasons, so it is nice to make some form of contact at least once a year, as some of them are quite elderly people now. |

My kids and tgeir friends just don't see the point of paper cards so I would suspect they will soon become a thing of the past. |

I don't send Christmas cars but my parents do. There's a couple they didn't get despite sending their friends cards and they're still waiting on some from London to get through. The postal strike might have affected the Christmas post a bit.

We still get Christmas and birthday cards sent to our house for the former owners. And they moved out years ago.
