EE - A black eye for Oz?
Is that it? Thought Mick was going to iron him out.

Worst ironing out ever.
All the things Oz has done and all he gets from Mick is a lousy black eye. |

I honestly thought Oz would get a beating as bad as Dean did at Christmas 2014. He'd have deserved it.
I guess Lee's exit could be something very different now. Was half-expecting him to kill Oz in a fit of rage. |

I am choosing to believe that his ribs are a right mess. Because from the state of Mick's knuckles I was expecting his nose to be spread across his face at least.

I was also expecting more [considering what he tried to do to Dean years back], considering the guy had not only tried to rob him, but also threatened his youngest son multiple times!

I'm still annoyed we never even got to see the scenes. If they didn't want to go full on they could have at least shown Mick coming knocking and Oz opening the door then cacking it without showing any actual violence.

We needed to see something! The whole time with the Lee storyline I was thinking 'wait until Mick finds out the truth'.... then .... nothing This is the one time we could see how dangerous and psycho Mick could be and all we see is a black eye. Rubbish |

I find it so strange when you view the last few episodes. It's almost like the new years day one was written and filmed by totally different people. The way they shot the new year one was full of heart and emotion (which ok I get it's building up to a big send-off, but still...) then the following episodes seem to be like the total opposite where we again just skip right over crucial scenes. Nobody got filmed reacting to being told about the deaths hardly, Mick never gets shown dealing with Oz or any of the build up or aftermath of it. Now we see Oz with a poor black eye saying that to Lee about him gloating and let's stay out of each others way etc and it's as if we leave that all there now, that's just the end of it!
I really don't understand. I never understood about leaving the robbery stuff off-screen either. I get why they'd do it to build some surprise that Lee was ever involved, but it still needed to be done differently so we could understand exactly how the hell it happened! I still don't buy or understand how he'd go to someone who has bullied him mercilessly and casually float the idea of robbing his family. Even in his weakened mental state and being in desperate need of cash, it just makes zero sense and the fact they did it all off screen makes it harder to believe or comprehend at all. It seems like they're ducking a load of things that need to be filmed, at least in some way. I never got what happened with the money Jay stole from Cokers either?! Did Billy ever find out the money went missing?! Another thing that never got explained. |

Does Lee not feel a little shame needing his old man to lay some lairy git who's probably 18 years or so out?

Swelling went down fairly quickly. Mick's hand was a bloody mess the other day. Oz supporting a 3-week old shiner.

It's really odd. It's as if they don't trust the actors to convey the emotion needed or they just decided that the actual emotional scenes aren't that important. Neither one of those makes sense.
I mean maybe we will see more to the Oz stuff I don't know, but it doesn't look that way and even so it still needed to show something happening around it. The whole point of building up a bully character in anything is usually to show them getting their comeuppance. I thought that was the whole payoff in film and television (and other things like wrestling etc with characters!) I guess you could say it wasn't built on Oz and he was merely a sidenote to the whole story of Lee but you'd still think they'd throw some of the meaty scenes in? At least something besides making it seem like all the main things happen off screen. I still can't believe we're expected to puzzle and believe Lee even came up with the robbery scenario because it was never shot. |

It was rather funny how Oz's black eye was so perfectly shaped and no other bruising or swelling. Possible? Of course. Probable? No.
I would've written that Oz had hidden injuries. Broken/bruised ribs, spleen etc. Or, if we're going really drastic...Mick cuts off Oz's tongue. |

You guys it's Mick not Conor McGregor.
The guy could barely run around the park and we're supposed to believe that he dominated a much younger, well-built guy long enough to re-arrange his face. Infact I'd have put money on Oz laying Mick out when Mick was talking about asking for Oz address. |

Oz looked like he wasn't hurt at all laughing and flirting with the new girl. Mick looks weak he could've made things much worse for Lee

Given the state of Mick's hand, how sheepish he seemed to be when Babe noticed it and early on in the episode I expected Lee to go into work and be told Oz was on life support with the police asking questions.
But no...mild black eye. |
