I'd never heard of this place a month ago. Now I've heard it more than any other place in my life!

Now there's TWO threads on Ongar both posted at the same time.

Magical. Just like Ongar.

It's like when Bianca was moving to Milton Keynes and it was mentioned 30 times per episode!

I drive through there on Saturday and I sadly looked out for the vacant shop that would have been the wine bar 😂

Isn't it where Birds of a Feather was set? They even had a cleaning company called Maids of Ongar.

I thought Birds Of A Feather was set in Chigwell. But that was years ago, not sure where the new series was set

Just popped to the future and found this press release:

'Following Redwater's amazing success, show bosses have decided to do more spin-offs - The Only Way is Kettering and Made in Ongar, due to air next year (2018).'

Went even further forward, and it turns out that they axe Eastenders and replace it with non-stop The Only Way is Kettering on Mondays and Thursdays and Made in Ongar on Tuesdays and Fridays, due to falling ratings.

It doesn't even look that nice from the pictures I've seen of it!

Can't remember where Maids of Ongar name came from. But it was set in chigwell up until season 8 when it moved to Hainault in the final 2 series on BBC. Before returning back to Chigwell when it returned to ITV

I thought 'Ongar was what EastEnders characters felt when they hadn't eaten for a while.

It's s bit more than that but it's a small town with more than it's fair share of tanning salons. It's main selling point is a posh fish restaurant called Smiths often frequented by Alan Sugar

It's a nice enough place.

It used to be the final stop on the central line tube but they closed the line 20 years ago.

They still run trains at weekends as a heritage service - it's a nice summer day out if you are in London or indeed Walford.

They also have a local swimming pool too - what a shame Roxy and Ronnie never got the chance to take advantage of their swimming lessons.!
