What sort of TV programmes do people like watching on Netflix? Genuine question. I don't know what they offer.

In my opinion it was definitely better from the late 60s when we first got BBC 2 through to 82 with the advent of Channel 4 and then 89 with Sky Channel and sister channels in the old analogue days.
There were less overall channels but it was quite exciting when there was genuinely more programmes to watch.
Unfortunately then with the advent of digital in the late 90s it went silly with loads more channels, but not loads more content.
That's when we got into the situation we're still in where many channels show the same programmes over and over again, in a loop, with the occasional new episode or series added.

I'd also appreciate any replies to that question.

Well now home entertainment was my baby's wish
So I hopped into town for a satellite dish
I tied it to the top of my Japanese car
I came home and I pointed it out into the stars
A message came back from the great beyond
There's fifty-seven channnels and nothin' on
then, I learned to read again, thanks Lynne Truss !
Eyes on Kindle, i stepped out, then underneath a bus.

60's, 70's & 80's were the golden years.

TV now is technically accomplished but artistically lacking.
Perfect post, 100% agree!

Probably now a smaller number of quality programmes spread over many more channels though still mostly on the BBC channels,
This.

I think TV as an whole is a lot poorer now. One or two gems can still be found, but IMO the majority is rubbish!

Still the occasional gem but overall very poor. It was way better in the 80's and 90's with fewer channels.

Can only speak for myself but dramas such as Bloodline, The Crown, House Of Cards and Narcos. Sci-fi/fantasy like The OA, Stranger Things and Sense8. Marvel/Netflix originals Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Luke Cage and recent movies.
